My self-summary
Hi,my name is Cliff
I am the Principal Percussionist for the Richmond Symphony.
I have been in the music business since I was 15.
I left Va. at age 18 to attend The Juilliard School,where I received a Bachelor's Degree,and a Master's Degree.
Upon graduation,I won the Principal Percussion position in The Mexico City Philharmonic.
After a year there, I returned to NYC,and built a very successful freelance career playing Broadway shows ,recording TV and Radio jingles, and performing concerts with many orchestras.
After 20 years in NYC, I won the Principal Percussion position with The Richmond Symphony, and have been here since '99,and am currently completing my 16th season.
Update : At the end of November, I decided to make some changes....one of which was to lose some weight. I ended my nightly ritual of drinking beer . I also changed the foods that I eat. I have since lost about 30 pounds. I was never "fat",but I did have a beer belly . I weighed 175 ,with about a 33/34 inch waist,I guess average for a 5'10" guy at my age....but I was amazed at how the weight started dropping when I stopped drinking beer, and was encouraged to keep going with it. I now weigh 145,my high school weight.
My hair is a bit thinner in the front,so I now style it more combed forward....I will try to post a new pic soon,to keep everything honest !

I spend a lot of time thinking about
...Kierkegaard said : "love never fails-it abides. "Love" that does not abide, that ceases , that becomes altered...by it's alteration (it) shows itself that it never was love at all ."
On a typical Friday night I am
either rehearsing or performing at Center Stage
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
definitely not your average business man...more of the quirky, artistic type....That said,I am not so good with a high maintenance partner...I can sometimes become totally absorbed by a difficult project, and can appear somewhat aloof. I do well with artistic, creative types that have an appreciation of all art, along with a great sense of humor.
You should message me if
new rules :
while it is a bit flattering, and like most men,the idea of a NSA session of spit swapping sure sounds like fun...I just can't be the guy .
Do Not Message me if :
#1 you are married
#2 in a relationship
sorry, I have been on the other end of that scenario, and I can promise you,it totally sucks. You would be better served by talking to your husband,or significant other,a counseler, etc. ,than bringing another guy into the picture.
I am not going to be your "added spice".
Do message me if :
are single !
and :
you think guys that play ragtime xylophone are totally cool !
here's an example of original ragtime by the master himself-George Hamilton Green:
here's an example with one of my teachers ( Bob Becker) playing the lead part on a composition by Green :
