My self-summary
If you don't like long personality descriptions, this profile isn't for you. I'm simple for the most part, mostly old-fashioned. Im an artist and am a fairly passionate person. I hold much value in communication and trust. I love conversation and spending time with someone most of the time, but I also love my alone time and my time to think and relax and decompress. I'm sensitive but not soft. I have strong opinions. I have morals, standards and values. I've been told so many times that I am different from most men that I have to believe it. I know I'm not generic. I know I have a lot to give and that I have my good and my bad. But above all, I think I'm a decent human being deserving of a decent female to spend my life with.

I'm mostly very confident- It doesn't always show, but it's there. In some respects i am not so confident. I can be crazy sometimes- I have an artist’s mind- I am somewhat socially awkward and reserved. I wear really bold socks, my hair is usually pristine, I'm nit-picky and critical about certain things- well a lot of things. I am a perfectionist, but I know when to let things be. I am easily frustrated on the right days, can get a temper and can be as stubborn as they come. I usually admit when I'm wrong. I have incredible patience for meticulous tasks, but terrible impatience waiting on things.

I like working on/fixing all my own stuff and I enjoy spending time in the kitchen though I hate cooking for myself. I try to eat healthy and I pretty much prefer only non-gmo, chemical free, etc etc GOOD food. I have a lot of random knowledge- I've taught myself a lot of what I know and I am not afraid to jump right into something new.

I enjoy the outdoors- hiking, photographing nature and drawing, rockhounding, prospecting and studying local Geology. I have a lot of varying hobbies/interests but they don't get as much time as the one I'm trying to turn into a career- But they do influence and contribute to who I am an what I do.

I'm into music- I can't live without my music. I can't live without art, either. I am a natural artist- I have some training, but I know I am truly blessed with many talents. I like a lot of "old" stuff- Music, TV, movies, styles, cars, etc... and a lot of people think it's because I grew up listening to or watching it or around it- I didn't.

I befriend cats with ease, I write, I enjoy whiskey, good Belgian ales and fine cigars. I LOVE baseball, like traditional hot rods and vintage bicycles. I have a weakness for old Mustangs and long drives. I also enjoy cool weather, flannels, clouds, rain and storms!
What I’m doing with my life
I am a self- taught, professional lapidary artist and independent jewelry artist and I love what i do. I'm also working a normal job in the industry. I have credentials from GIA, eventually to get a Graduate Gemologist diploma. I also can do handy-man work on the side and any other random work I happen to stumble upon. Here are a few things I'm working towards: growing my business and finding some stability; discovering new ways to better my diet and lifestyle; Continually learning and expanding my mind to new ideas and things and growing as a person. I've realized I'm not getting any younger and things have to change because I've already wasted too much time. This is partly what brings me to NC. I just want to become a better person and spend my life doing the things I love and I will do what I have to do to accomplish that.
I’m really good at
I'm really good with my hands and very resourceful. I'm good at teaching myself things and figuring out how things work. I'm a good talker, pretty good listener. I love teaching people about my interests. I can cook- I rarely use recipes because I just experiment and it usually turns out pretty good!
The first things people usually notice about me
My green eyes usually. Or, that I'm really quiet and reserved until I get going then there is no shutting me up.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Anything about history, historic people or events, Science: astronomy, physics, geology, etc.. Steve McQueen movies are good. I like some newer stuff, but not enough to really write about it.

I don't own a television... but if I did it'd probably be on one of two stations- MLB and Science Channel or similar. I used to watch mostly PBS and old shows like The Rebel, Gunsmoke and Bonanza. I also love The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits and Master Chef. But I don't watch a ton of TV shows. If I do, they're British- Top Gear, Scott & Bailey, etc. American television is largely just idiotic.

Music: I'm BIG into Nick Cave and his work, but my musical interests are wide. Some newer stuff, a lot of older stuff. Surf, rockabilly, some country, Apocalyptica, Rammstein, Tom Waits, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Mark Lanegan, Joan Baez, Hendrix, The Band, Joplin, Norah Jones, Joe Bonamassa, classical, instrumental, blues and jazz... Too much to list really. I just like real, actual, GOOD music, and I am like a kid in a candy store when I find hidden gems of songs/artists I never new existed. No Emo, rap, lame-o pop or hipster junk. Yes, yes I know "good" is subjective, but....

Books: Art, firearms, history, gemstones, jewelry, geology, gemology... They all make good books. I enjoy a good fiction every once in a while too.

Food: I am in love with Mexican food. I cook it fairly well, too. But I just enjoy good food, all around. Hardly any fish though, definitely no sushi..
Six things I could never do without
My family, my passion, my cats, my hands, my music, my creativity.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about a lot.... New projects, current projects, new ideas, the future, how to improve myself...
On a typical Friday night I am
Listening to music, driving, working on a project, trying to find something to do to get out of the house, at a carshow, working on my gemstones, out on the back patio working on something if the weather is nice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As bad as it sounds: I really don't like people... At all. I really like a small selection of people who inspire me and bring happiness into my life.

We all know it, we all wanna say it, but we only put up with all the dummies in this world because there are some good ones sprinkled in there too- you just have to find them.
You should message me if
...if you want a real person and normal, good, old-fashioned (but definitely not perfect) kind of guy who is definitely not like all the rest of em.

If your profile picture(s) aren't just bathroom selfies

If you're GENUINELY an easy going and positive person.

If you have dreams, goals, aspirations of any kind besides the accumulation of money and stuff and status and you want to keep on bettering yourself and your life and your relationships.

If you don't give a damn about celebrities and pop culture and trendy gadgets and spend your time worrying about things that actually have an impact on your life.

If you are a free spirit who THINKS FOR YOURSELF.

If you're healthy and active and vibrant and full of energy and vitality.

Note: If you're close-minded and intolerant of firearms, you may want to move along...

Also, If you can't message me with something more intellectually stimulating than "Hi", don't bother. Please.

I'm not here for "hook ups", thanks. Oh, and I just moved to Wilmington, but I don't need or want anyone to "show me around", please...

Thank you, for any of you that may have made it to this sentence. I appreciate your time and I hope you enjoyed the read. :)
