Also as a side project, I do some contributing writing here and there for a tech and game website. Also contributed to other sites in the past, mostly reviews and articles. It is a good way to stay sharp with my writing.
I hope to one day maybe pen up a novel or short story, something more publishable. It is a work in progress. Very slow progress.
I am always looking to better myself in what I do and always willing to at least try a new experience as long as it's legal, and fun of course. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so there is always something fun going on that I would be a part of. gaming, writing, hanging out with people, walking the streets of Manhattan, the usual I guess when it comes to the big city.
Outside of that, my more jaded side feels shackled because of the slow progress of my improvements. Perhaps someone on here can help change that of course ;).
I do it for fun now a days. College essays are a thing of the past, now I get to a random poem or two, articles and op-ed pieces, even a few short stories here and there. The big project right now is a bit of work for hire with a few friends of mine, not going to get paid a lot, but the experience of it is totally worth it.
I am also apparently good at mind games and puzzles, and games in general. Mostly as a hobby, but i'm always willing to try out something new, test my mettle, so to speak.
Maybe my face and my somewhat circular features, or my rather macabre sense of humor or dry logic in everything I see. I am honestly not sure. Perhaps you can tell me when you read this and feel compelled to message ;).
Movies and all that, really depends on my mood. I normally just keep them on in the background when i'm on the computer. Mostly it's also TV shows off of netflix now a days anyway. Irreverent comedies, documentaries, every once and a while maybe a horror movie, but not my favorite genre.
As for music, mostly heavy metal and classic rock. Some orchestrated tracks and stuff as well plus video game music because i'm a nerd like that. My favorite bands include The Beatles, Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian and Dio, to name a few.
Food is chicken easily. I don't really eat red meat at all, and rarely, if ever, pork. Also love apples and grapes. Not sure why I need to mention that really. Styles of cuisine are harder to pin down, although I do enjoy chinese and a lot of asian food.
Also not listed here is video games, which I tend to cite as a major category in of itself. I tend to play a lot of Role-Playing Games in that regard. Some of my favorites include classic Final Fantasy (VI in particular), The Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age, and the Elder Scrolls series. Also a huge fan of a lot of Nintendo titles, Legend of Zelda in particular.
some degree of privacy,
sexual release (a man has needs)
Other than that, just really looking at branching out and meeting some new people. I made a resolution to be more social and active, so far it has paid off, bit by bit at least.
Although a lot of attempts at communication on OkCupid seem to fail still. Perhaps its my opening line or just my really dry, direct demeanor that causes problems, for some reason most of the time it goes nowhere, not even a reply back saying no thanks, haha.
It's not always easy I guess, but that is life in a nutshell, a series of a challenges you must overcome to get further and further down that road. It does become easier, so long as you try to work at it.
When I do go out, usually go with friends, hang out and maybe go to bar, dinner, movies, the standard stuff. I am not a fan of clubs or bars, but I will go to them if i'm with friends, or if my mood feels right. I honestly do prefer quiet evenings more though, but too many of those is not good for balance.
But seriously, leave a message, and if I do send you one, at least reply back and tell me no thanks. We're all adults here, it's the proper thing to do at least.
