My self-summary
Update and BarbM you know who you are.
Well, I left LIT for Waterbury CT yesterday and landed at Philladelphia shortly before the bombs went off in Boston. Remind me to show you my World Trade Center Tower Two plas, dated July 29, 2001 some day. A three hour delay.
I watched the news coverage in the airport bar and all around me folks were trying to check on friends and family in Boston. Someone said that Google had posted a web site to find people, so I took over a table and plugged in my lap top and made it avaiable to anyone who needed it. Thank God, no one I delt with had a family member injured. A couple of folks offered me money. I looked at them as if they were crazy. I was 30 years old before I knew crazy damm yankee was three words. Kind of puts things in perspective. Even with all the hate, bigotry, school shootings and stupidity, we are still all Americans and we will pull togeather when the chips are down. I know it sound corney, but what do you expect from a USMC brat?

I think I might be in the midst of "Romance" , no firm declaration of undying love and / or wild monkey sex, but I find it hard enough to send one woman into low earth orbit, let alone two. Now, I know there is a collective moan of anguish out there in Ok Cupid, land, but buck up, and trust that I mess this thing up, and wish me the best of luck. So, read on, if only because I entertain my self, knowing, that I wish you the best in your journey and search for someone who makes your heart sing.

In a transitory life, I always hope to be kind, and punctual and polite. I travel all the time and, if by car, I will stop and help a turtle cross the road. I have been a Cub Master, Scout Leader , Swim Meet stroke and turn judge. I would rather go to the theater than NASCAR, Bob Marley rather country, Bach, Chopin, Vivaldi (Gloria in D) and Dvorak, and have a reasonable discourse, a nice dinner, but the conversational dispatch must but FUN ,
I always have a book going read 1000 (at least a year)
Yep, always have read that much, no kiddin
and am foolish for poetry and William Blake, aka Bill Shakespeare. I like to think that is why I know something about most things, because I read. Let me tell you a story. We moved to Little Rock, after having transversed the continent. The first day of High School American History class Mrs. Buckingham said, What happened in the year 1607? (Little did she know I had been in School in Virgina the last four years)

I raised my hand, " That was the first English permanent settlement in North America. " "Can I go to practice my trumpet please?"
Yes Mr.Smarty Pants, Oh and I am strange.

But what I have a rigid value system. A belief system, you will know where I stand. What is right is right, bright line rule, sorry I put a person thru law school and work with attorneys all the time, a bright line rule is nomenclature that,a legal precedent in the law, (for students is underlined) , because it can not be changed, (you Babe Attorneys out there correct me.) So, I can and will tolerate psychotic religious beliefs, such as Southern Baptist. High Church 1928 prayre booke is the ony true word of God, ( and yes, that is a joke) (I have been published regarding the Hare Krishna 's, and that is lame, it was a cult in the US a respected religion in most of the world)

Don't get this wrong,I am devout Episcopalian and me and the Lord, we have an understanding.(Blues Brothers Quote) God is a constant.

But , do not waist your time reading further if you are "Trying to live life to the fullest and that God and family are the most important things in your life. blah blah blah" Don't bother if you don't actually like kline bang bang music.
And kids, the little bastards, If I have a date I just strap them down with duct Tape, works every time.

End story, I endeavor to be kind, and to listen.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying, without much success, to stay between the lines, keeping my blue haired ladies from eating the dry store brand cat food, saving as many dogs and some people from the gas chamber. I love Jesus and family, unfortunately neither return my phone calls, so I am on a quest for the perfect hamburger.
I’m really good at
I have , over time, been able to finely calibrate how much seduction a woman can handle before she loses her mind without literally losing her mind. Ladies always ask to try , but each time I slowly shake my head, thinking of that smiling woman in the hospital hooked up to all those machines and knowing I must never do that again.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hopefully nothing. I guess a hold over from my NSA days. I endevor to keep as light a foot print on this web thing as possible. You might notice that I can, not necessarily will, "play" to my audience. Also, my adult granimals are from Brooks Brothers and I smell of nothing but clean.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

If you read less than 100 a year move on. Dig the english romantics
always a book with a lover,
so, a list:
Aka John Mellencamp, I come from a small; choir, a small church choir, I did the soprano descants and and Anglicans almost us, I was Dec tenor at St Johns , Oxford, but this "praise music thing" is nothing more than pop music. Guess you must be a historian to know. Look at Mozart's Masses, a; commissioned by the church., please, hymns and where can you hear the Latin from Bach, etc anymore? Vivaldi is rolling in his grave.

And when my kids were little I would read to them every night , WSJ , Wall Street Journal, (and so the conflicting earnings reports did not confirm projections, sothe cute little bunny rabbits did high grade commercial paper and unit investment trust of blue chip dividend paying companies) and yes, my boys went to bed with and the USMC Hymm" For All the Saints"
Tennyson, Zevon
Freddy the pig (I dare you to google that)
I will weep at chick flicks, and gefaw @ blues brothers, animal house, caddy shack etc, I love movies
and for food, any thing but fungus (mushrooms and I go to the hospital if I eat shellfish.) There used to be a resturant in mid town ,(NYC) Afgan Kabob house, yum! food network, and yes, besides other skills, I can sling hash, all french sauses and I do a mean smoked chicken
The six things I could never do without
Crap , look it up, the only the things needed for life as we know it
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Space the final fronteer, How much the Lyndon Johnson, aka MLK, "I have a dream" made a change my life time, the great society, but sad, the Y chomo, I think about getting laid.
On a typical Friday night I am
Typical, get home, call the boys, do a load of laundry, spend a couple of hours doing paperwork from the week out, lay out my dry cleaning, take corndog across the road from my Condo, let him run, shttp://www.lyrics.com/born-free-lyrics-matt-monro.htmlinging
and wish pot was legal.
Check email,
confirm details with the boys for Sat.
and go to bed with Corndog
sorry. at my age, not enough time to mess it up

A. E. Housman (1859-1936)
When I was one-and-twenty
I heard a wise man say,
'Give crowns and pounds and guineas
But not your heart away;
Give pearls away and rubies
But keep your fancy free.'
But I was one-and-twenty,
No use to talk to me.

When I was one-and-twenty
I heard him say again,
'The heart out of the bosom
Was never given in vain;
'Tis paid with sighs a plenty
And sold for endless rue.'
And I am two-and-twenty,
And oh, 'tis true, 'tis true.
and then I go to bed
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The pain I am in while I write this, you could read it all the way to the end and not be moved by the heartache in every word. Each sentence contains the pain of my soul, and in particular the part of the soul that yearns for closure. I forgot to pick up my dry cleaning.
You should message me if
Kindness , and truth, and no expectations other than what one should do within other than the expectations of ones owns moral compase
So, Happy Trails and I will be watching your future endeavors with great interest.
