I am going out with remainameless. I work too much and occasionally party too hard. Not too often but the next day reminds me why I don't do it too often. I'm Irish, I've been here in Shanghai for a year now and I'm loving it. You have no idea how much I like the food here, it's just glorious. I'm teaching seven days a week. I like children and I like money. At some stage I should probably work less and enjoy life more but I'm quite enjoying it at the moment.

I have been accurately described as a serial monogamist who's not very good at monogamy.

Working and making occasional stabs at learning Chinese. I'm terrible but I'll get better eventually, I'm sure.

Listening to people's problems, laying out solutions, including ones they hadn't thought of before, and reassuring them that it will probably be all right, and even if it isn't it's not the end of the world.

I also appear to be good at typing "teh" when I mean to type "the".

I'm super hairy.

And I have lovely eyes.

Oh, reading The Prince by Nicollo Machiavelli, is as close as I've ever come to a religious experience.

(c) I like emo, e.g. Paramore, Yellowcard, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park and Finch. I enjoy some thoroughly non-credible music like HIM or Avril Lavigne, and the more intelligible end of rock/metal music. Johny Cash was a genius and Bob Dylan is a pale shadow, but still worth listening to. Whipping Boy should have been bigger than U2. Alice Cooper is one of the most under-rated artists ever, though the stage show's a bit cheesy. Alanis Morrisette is very good indeed. But The Cardigans are so much better

(d) Food, Indian, Chinese, French, Italian, German, everything. I particularly love squid, there's a restaurant near my old flat that does it wonderfully with coriander. But I really love Indian food; it's the only way I could see myself going vegetarian.

My satchel, phone and keys. They ensure I'll be able to get home and that I won't be bored while I'm awake. There's always a book in my bag and my phone's pretty good for reading too. It's massive.

What I'll do with the money I'm saving. Not really. I don't spend too much time ruminating on things. I used to but doing things usually works out better.

Working til 8:30 and then going out to dinner. I have cooked three times since moving here. It's glorious.

I write really bad poetry occasionally.
