I get into conversations with strangers wherever I go – hearing my uber driver’s opinion on the upcoming election, playing volleyball with the company CEO, or debating the best green tea with the grandmother in line behind me at Groundwork.
I’m always listening – looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary. It's no wonder that documentary film was my first love – and I’m proud to say that I've made a bunch of docs, travelled the world with them and have a new one that just broadcasted this fall. Telling stories just makes me feel so damn good – whether in film, web, or short essay format. Look, I’m telling you a story right now – whee! In addition to creative work I produce / PM for web which keeps me in regular supply of $12 juices in Venice. ;)
I love everything related to water – lakes, oceans, bays, rivers, bathtubs, ice cubes. (Yes, the drought stresses me out. Big time.) I don’t even try to get a tan when I go to the beach, I’m too busy splashing about, which caused my sister to nickname me “the water puppy.” However I’m a pretty mediocre swimmer. My second attempt at surfing was a disaster, but I plan to give it another shot. Especially now that I live a block from the beach...been here four years since NYC and the honeymoon has not ended.
I’m less interested in WHAT you are than WHO you are. Eff the imaginary check boxes! I am looking for the balance of chemistry and compatibility. Someone to have fun with on a day that we're taking over the world or doing nothing at all.
What else? An independent, honest, kind, funny, healthy, nature-loving, affectionate, super smart, communicative, active, big-thinking man I can learn from, who can push and pull in a conversation to consider more deeply what’s going on in the world and what it all means over whiskey at a campfire or road trip across the state or....
I’ve played / coached / filmed sport teams my entire life, which has completely programmed me:
1. Think positively, 2. Sweat for what you believe in. 3.) Trust your body and your teammates -- and treat them right.
And yessir, I am one long glass of water. (pls don't ask me if it's a typo...)
I’m ready for my ultimate teammate, with whom we can be our best, most authentic selves, laugh ourselves silly and make every day special just by being together.
Best wishes to everyone in finding what they are looking for! Xox.
