My self-summary
Recent New Yorker, formerly of D.C. and other random places around the globe, but Chicago will always be home. Apologies to NY sports fans...

I've got the usual list of hobbies, though I haven't hiked in a while, so my username is kind of crap. Also, I've been "learning Portuguese" for too many years... advice appreciated.

I wouldn't say that I have any required goals in life (I need to be in place X by age Y), but rather to enjoy what I do, do it well, and spend my free moments with people that are good company and make me a bit smarter for having known them (random talents appreciated).

For the record, I may have random talents, though I certainly will not list them off here.

You (hopefully): adventurous, ambitious, sarcastic (non-negotiable), athletically-minded (please do not talk about Cross Fit for three hours though) and curious to know more about the world. Somewhat dorky interests/eccentricities are endearing, provided they're not obsessions (see Cross Fit example above)

That said, coffee or a pint is a good start towards a longer conversation. There's no way to know who likes who from typing all day.

Good luck out there.
What I’m doing with my life
Management consulting. Not terribly specific, but as a rule projects change all the time, so specificity is kind of difficult.

I make a lot of Powerpoint presentations. Gripping, right?
I’m really good at
Making very obscure analogies that some people get.
The first things people usually notice about me
People always tell me I look like someone else - joys of an anonymous face. And my humor can be a tad dry.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: many, but right now Mating by Norman Rush. Feel free to offer opinions of Middlesex, The Adventures of Kavalier and Klay, In Cold Blood, The General in His Labyrinth, or other books I've read about 100 pages of and haven't finished (but will).

Music: again, many, but at this moment I'm listening to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Chuck Berry. How cliche.

Food: yes
The six things I could never do without
1.) Family - they're pretty decent
2.) Passport(s) - they get me out
3.) My rice cooker - I would starve otherwise
4.) Running Shoes - to use or stare at
5.) Coffee - deadly serious
6.) A sense of humor - to tolerate stupid list writing
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what I just forgot
On a typical Friday night I am
New York - is there a typical Friday?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You should message me if
Nothing really stopping you from doing so. I guess if none of the above sounds ridiculous or annoyingly vague. Or you want to get a coffee or whiskey, my general weaknesses in life.
