My self-summary
I am very close to my extended family. I have 3 nieces and 5 nephews all under 15, and I try to stay involved in their lives. I am an engineer. I like to travel, and am a football fan. I coach little kids in flag football. I have two dogs. I am honest; sometimes even to a flaw, and generally think I am a good person.
What I’m doing with my life
A lot. But when I write it all out, and read it back it just sounds like rambling. I guess to summarize, I spend a lot of time with my extended family, work full time-ish, and otherwise just hang out mostly at home a lot with my dogs, tv, computer games, etc. I also am getting into coaching. Just little ones for now, but maybe more someday.
I’m really good at
Thinking outside the box
Enjoying and appreciating the little things, and not taking anything good for granted.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't like this question. So... I pass. Sorry.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like movies that make you think. Movies like Memento, Inception, Fight Club, Donny Darko, and the Village. I also like action movies and comedies. These days I tend to watch more TV series than movies. Some of the TV series I like include: Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, Black Mirror, Breaking Bad, Lost, and Orphan Black. I really only watch series if they are on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
Update: Game of Thrones is now officially my single favorite show. I just started watching it earlier this year. I really liked Stranger Things as well.

I don't really read recreational, except articles. I know. Kind of a big turn off. But its the truth.

I don't listen to music as much as I used to. And recently have been finding myself a lot more out-of-the-loop with new music. I do like a lot of different types of music. Although I tend to enjoy high energy music. I do listen to a lot of podcasts.

And I like a lot of different foods. Probably too much. I certainly like to try new foods and different restaurants. I do not cook a ton, but do dabble a little.
Six things I could never do without
Water - Which I drink all the time
Food - Sustenance. Food is so much more than just sustenance in my lifestyle. But really that is all that I truly need of it.
Earth - My home in the universe, but also on a more micro level, I need a small spot of it to live on.
Air - Not just to breath, but also the space to rise above the earth itself.
Thought - Experiences, and the ability to recognize them and interact with them.
Community/Humanity - Lets face it, I am not doing this alone. If we didn't have each other, I think life would be unbearable.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The big questions...
What is the meaning of life, and how to obtain happiness.
Also smaller things like future vacation/travel plans, what series on Netflix I should start next, how my football teams I root for are doing, coaching next year for flag football, what all I have going on this weekend, the weather, what work I should have done on my house next, investing in property, my job, how soon I can retire, what I will do once I do retire, where different people I care about will be 10-15 years from now, being grateful for all I have, wondering how I can make a positive difference in someone else life.... and bacon.
On a typical Friday night I am
Visiting my sister and her family, or my parents. There may be card/board/dice games involved. Or maybe just a quiet night at home with my dogs and Netflix. Maybe I celebrate making it through another week with a hard cider.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really don't think I keep that much private. Pretty much if you ask me a direct question, I will tell you anything about me. If you want, you can consider that a challenge.
You should message me if
Honestly, if you have read this far though my profile. I think you should message me. You don't need to feel confident it will amount to anything. I would just love to hear what you are thinking right now.

I will kind of throw one caveat in here. If you need to find a partner that is Christian, or any other specific religious beliefs; I am probably not your guy. Past experience on here makes me feel like I need to be very up-front with this. I will respect your religious beliefs whatever they are. But I will need you to respect mine as well. They are very important to me.

And if you don't message me, I still want to thank you for taking the time to read this. And I really do hope you find what you are looking for.
