My self-summary
I've always liked a good story. This has gotten me into all kinds of trouble.

I have a wanderlust like you wouldn't believe. It's taken me to all of the continents - even the one covered in ice and penguins. That said, I've also come to appreciate the art of local adventures and exploration.

I'm an entrepreneur. This means that I'm a dreamer, a doer, and prefer life to be a little outside of the box.

I'm quirky, playful, and I take risks, but I have my act together and am dependable.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm at a startup that makes a really neat nerdy cooking device.

I dabble -- a lot. I love learning and improving.

These days I'm always trying to carve away time for writing, welding, running, yoga, playing outside, cooking, and surfing (when I'm lucky). Depending on the season I also play around with snowboarding, kayaking, backpacking, and sailing.
I’m really good at
Being bad at karaoke. Laughing. Versatility.
The first things people usually notice about me
Blah Blah Blah
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Steinbeck is my soulmate. "Oh the Places You'll Go" is my comfort book. "You Are Here" was a game changer. Cookbooks are a guilty pleasure. And I have a giant stack of Lonely Planet books that I can't seem to let go of.

TV: I pretty much quit in the 90s. I'll snuggle up for a show or two but as a whole don't want to add much TV to my life.

Music: Yes! Miles Davis is in my record player right now, but it could just as easily be Radiohead, Aretha Franklin, Alabama Shakes, Whitney Houston, or Chopin.

Food: Dinner parties are one of my all time favorite things. I'm a vegetarian (but a cool one). I'm very passionate about quality food but also am pretty much incapable of saying no to a street vendor (veggie) hot dog.
Six things I could never do without
People I love
Zest -- adventure, romance, play
Salt water: sweat, tears, and the sea
Physical activity, but not gyms
Pen and paper -- I think best in writing
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How much there is to be grateful for
On a typical Friday night I am
I like Friday nights spent curled up in a warm blanket under the stars. I like Friday nights that makes me shake my head on a Saturday morning. I like Friday nights spent dancing around the kitchen in my pajamas while making pasta. I like Friday nights debating new ideas over old whiskey in a swanky dress.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes (okay often) I start my day blaring "Valerie" (my name) by Steve Winwood and dancing around the house triumphantly.
You should message me if
You're happy and committed to living an incredible life.

I'd really like to find someone: smart/funny; who eats + lives well; is active + adventurous (but doesn't get too restlessness spending the day in a hammock with a good book); kind; and down for some mutual spoiling (which speaks more to thoughtfulness than money).

Also, solid even-keeled men are super sexy.
