My self-summary
I don't really do drugs. Not the bad ones, anyway. I read a LOT of books and listen to a lot of music. I think practical=cool. I love to learn, and good conversation is one of my favorite things. My sense of humor is strong, like bear. I'm not interested in sports, television, crystal healing, pinterest, brand-name clothing, sludge metal bands, or the shopping mall (except when the nearest Chik-Fil-A is in the food court. Then I'll think about it). This summary looks like it was written by a drunk high school nerd. I'm not one, I promise.
What I’m doing with my life
Living the dream. No, really.
I'm working in my chosen career, doing what I love for a comfortable income. Professionally, I couldn't get much happier. I'm pretty good on personal happiness, too, but I'm working on making that even better.
I’m really good at
Playing guitar
Playing bass while bobbing my head
Being polite
Joint Rolling
Speculation about the future of mankind
Absorbing nearly useless trivia
The first things people usually notice about me
My face, if they're doing it right.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books- Damn near all of them.
Fiction: The Diamond Age, Ishmael, A Confederacy of Dunces, LOTR, anything Vonnegut, No Time for Sergeants, Hitchhiker's Guide, and on and on and on... No Twilight.
Non-fiction: anything and everything. Feynman, Jared Diamond, Dawkins, Hitchens, David Sedaris, Oliver Sacks, Michael Pollan, David McCullough, and Greg Palast are all on my bookshelf at the moment.
Music: extremely broad interests. Ask me if I like the kind of music you listen to, probably I'll find something in it I can enjoy.
Don't watch many movies these days, but Monty Python's Holy Grail, Big Lebowski, pretty much all Wes Anderson's stuff, Shawn of the Dead, and The Usual Suspects are some favorites.
TV Bad. TV rot brain. Internet much better.
The six things I could never do without

Alternate list, now sans rhymes:
My kindle (or at least access to a good bookstore)

A good guitar
Time spent outdoors
Internet connectivity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The state of the world
The state of my own mind
What it all means
What shall I eat?
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
