My self-summary
I'm a pretty typical nerdy engineer. I like learning how things work and building interesting things. I've worked in the construction industry in some facet since I was 19 (worked summers to get through college), and I really value the experience and practical knowledge of using tools and building things.

I also really like working on cars, and well, anything with an engine. I've rebuilt a few car engines, and done a lot of work on motorcycles and boats as well. So yeah, I'm one of those "car guys". I never anticipate owning less than 4 cars/trucks/motorcycles/boats, so you'll have to put up with that. I have a need for speed.

My main hobby is "building stuff". And sometimes fixing stuff. Or building something and then fixing it. Or trying to fix something and rebuilding it.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm basically an Electrical Engineer, but I do more project management than engineering. I've been at my company for about 8 years and they have been good to me so far.

I just bought a fixer-upper house in Richardson. I'm excited to add my vision to it.

I'm probably moving from Dallas to Kansas City, KS sometime in the next 2 years to work out of my company's corporate office.

I do a lot of side projects and hobbies. I own an obscene amount of tools.

My ultimate goal is to flip/rent a few houses and then buy or build a nice house on 3-5 acres of land with a big garage/workshop. Hopefully you find this idea appealing as well :-). Buying 3-5 acres of land is almost impossible in Dallas, thus my desire to move to Kansas :-).
I’m really good at
Fixing things, building things, math, science, electronics.

I'm an easy person to get along with. I'm not the life of the party type, but I'm the guy that everyone usually gets along with.

I am good at learning and doing new things. I am not afraid to jump headfirst into an ambitious project - that's the way you learn.

I've been pretty proficient at Arduino projects as well.
The first things people usually notice about me
I honestly don't really know. I feel like most anything I would put here would make me sound pompous.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I only read boring non-fiction books about religion, evolution, astrophysics, quantum physics, and other similar subjects.

I'm not really into fiction, and a lot of people find that very strange about me. I'm not heartless, or lacking of imagination or anything, but reading fictional stories is just not very interesting to me. I very much enjoy reading true stories, especially fascinating ones. I'm also a news and history junkie.

I'm not very picky with music. I'll listen to most of it, but don't really care for most country or rap music. I listen to Classic Rock more often than not.

I don't watch TV, and I don't watch any shows regularly. I don't have Netflix or anything like that. I watch a lot of documentaries and politics/news online. I've never watched Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, or Breaking Bad, and I probably never will. I do like watching most movies though, mostly ones about historical events or well made action/sci-fi.

I'm the opposite of a picky eater. There are some foods I don't care for, but I'll eat almost anything. My favorite is tex-mex.
The six things I could never do without
Internal combustion engines
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stuff I can build.
On a typical Friday night I am
I prefer nerdy house parties to bars, but I'm flexible.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I rock out to terrible pop music.
You should message me if
You don't mind getting your hands dirty from time to time, high maintenance girls need not apply.

I like muscle cars and classic rock. Hope you do too.

I'm an Atheist and politically progressive, so if you're religious or a tea party republican, you probably won't get along with me very well.
