My self-summary
I consider myself an unusual amalgamation of personality types. First and foremost I'm a nerdy engineer. I'm analytical, even-tempered and intellectual. I've also worked in the construction industry my entire adult life and consider myself very pragmatic and straight to the point. Pragmatic is one of my favorite words. I'm all about real-world application and getting things done.

I manage construction projects, so I tend to be decisive and to the point. I'm also in general not very picky about most day to day things, so I'm also pretty easy going. Combine those 2, and I'm generally a go-with-the-flow type of guy, but I'm not afraid to make decisions when one needs to be made, and I'm quick to put my foot down if there's something I really want or don't want to do.

In real life I'm pretty lighthearted and funny, but also enjoy delving into deep conversations about politics, history, science, religion, etc.

Someone once said I was like a cross between Dr. House and Tim the Tool Man Taylor. I think that's pretty accurate.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an electrical engineer, but at my work I do more management than technical stuff. I'm a construction superintendent, which means I manage construction sites, specifically electronic security projects at educational institutions. I've been at my company for awhile (since I was 21) and have worked my way from the bottom up to middle management.

Right now I travel quite a bit for work (especially in the summers), but at the end of this year (2017) I should be moving to a different position which involves less travel.

I'm moving to Kansas City (Kansas Side) in the near future to work out of my company's home office, and I really like the KC area; I'm up here all the time for work anyway. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX, but after traveling the US, I have decided that Dallas isn't really for me.

I bought a fixer-upper house in Richardson that I'm about 70% through fixing up. I plan on fixing up a few more houses to save up money/equity to buy a nice house with 3+ acres of land near Kansas City. I think I would be happiest living more in the country rather than in the suburbs. I also want/need a 4+ car garage. That's my plan anyway, who knows what life will throw at you.
I’m really good at
I like cars/trucks/motorcycles/boats/etc. I'm a pretty good mechanic and enjoy working on stuff that goes vroom vroom. I can fix your car so that you don't have to go to an auto repair shop where they rip you off.

I also build a lot of stuff, all sorts of stuff. Woodworking, electronics, house rennovations/upgrades, etc. I can build you cool furniture and stuff.

I'm also an electrical engineer, so I tinker with electronics a lot. I've done quite a few arduino projects.
The first things people usually notice about me
I honestly don't really know. I drive a yellow car which often gets comments.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I only read boring non-fiction books about religion, evolution, astrophysics, quantum physics, and other similar subjects.

I'm not very picky with music. I'll listen to most of it, but don't really care for twangy country or gangster rap music. The 4 Pandora stations I listen to the most are:
Classic Rock
Rob Zombie
AWOLNATION
German Heavy Metal/Techno

I don't watch TV, and I don't watch any shows regularly. I don't have Netflix or anything like that. I watch a lot of documentaries and politics/news online. I've never watched Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, or Breaking Bad, and I probably never will. I do like watching most movies though, mostly ones about historical events or well made action/sci-fi.

I'm not really into fiction, and a lot of people find that very strange about me. I'm not heartless, or lacking of imagination or anything, but reading fictional stories is just not very interesting to me. I very much enjoy reading true stories, especially fascinating ones. I'm also a news and history junkie. This means that I'm not that interested in "binge watching" a series with you. I'm not that interested in watching anime with you. I don't have an opinion on Marvel vs. DC and I'm not really into most of those movies/shows/comics. I do generally like watching movies, but I'm not as into them as most people. I don't look down on people who enjoy all those things, its just not for me. However, if you want to watch a documentary, then I'm super stoked =D

I'm the opposite of a picky eater. There are some foods I don't care for, but I'll eat almost anything. My favorite is tex-mex.
Six things I could never do without
Internal combustion engines
Electronics
Smartphone
Internet
Family
Tools
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stuff I can build.
On a typical Friday night I am
I prefer nerdy house parties to bars, but I'm flexible.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I rock out to terrible pop music.
You should message me if
You don't mind getting your hands dirty from time to time, high maintenance girls need not apply.

I try to be a very productive person, I like people with ambition. If you're more likely to wake up at 7:00am on saturday and start working on a hobby/project rather than waking up at noon and binge watching netflix all day, then I'm super interested in you.

I like muscle cars and classic rock, it would be cool if you like those things as well.

I'd like to go motorcycle riding more. I would really like someone who would enjoy doing that with me (either riding on the back of mine or on your own motorcycle, preferably a cruiser).
