My self-summary
Hi everyone! My name is Jay and I am originally from the midwest. I am a pretty good natured guy (part of my wholesome upbringing, I guess :P). Currently, I am living in Seattle and have found it very refreshing.

As far as my personality, I am an optimistic and tend to always look for the silver lining. You won't often find me complaining! My sense of humor is quirky, but in a good way. I like to meet new people always and tend to gravitate to those who share a similar mind-set and are genuine. I am the type that always tries to find the best in everyone. I expect a lot from my friends and strive to have open and honest relationships. Once I get to know someone, I would do anything for them.
What I’m doing with my life
I just finished my master's degree in engineering from the university and am looking forward to starting a full time position with a start up company. It will be an interesting transition, but I am looking forward to it.
I’m really good at
I can tend to be a bit of a workaholic, but I promise I know how to relax, just let things happen, and hang out with people. I love talking with all kinds of people about anything, honestly. Being able to have an intelligent conversation is really important to me for any relationship that I have be it friendship or dating.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a very warm personality and tend to be talkative. People tend to tell me that I have a big smile. Not in the sense that I have a big mouth, but that I am very expressive with my emotions in general. It is usually fairly obvious what I am feeling, not that I am dramatic (quite the opposite!). I like to communicate. When I am working through a problem, I always want to talk it out with someone.
The six things I could never do without
1) People. No man is an island! I wouldn't consider myself the life of the party by any stretch of the imagination, but I have close friends that I cherish and I don't know what I would do without them.
2) The future. I am always looking forward and don't like to be boxed in.
3) The internet. I'm such a big geek! It's a great resource for learning new things. Also, I have friends that are outside of my time zone and it allows me to keep in touch with them.
4) Weekends. I need my time to recharge and just do what I want to do.
5) Meaning. I'm not talking about saving the world, but just feeling as if what I am doing is important to those that matter to me and doing what I can for those who need it as much as possible.
6) Surprises. Otherwise life gets boring.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Nothing comes to mind, but ask me anything and I will probably answer it completely honestly. Not a lot embarrasses me.
You should message me if
I am just trying to meet new people as either friends or potentially something more. If you like the type of person that I sound like send me a message, what could it hurt? I promise I won't make fun of you ;P.
