My self-summary
Ignoring for the moment the part where I'm terrible at these; I'm something of an introvert who loves being around the right people. I've learned to embrace the awkward, laugh as much as possible, I flirt shamelessly and often accidentally, and I think too much.

I love language, I speak less French than I wish I could but more than many Anglophones, I swear more than I should, and when I try to put myself down on paper my brain shrivels up and melts out through my ears.
What I’m doing with my life
Oh, working your not-quite-standard nine to five, and writing at least 1000 words of a novel a day. In my spare time nowadays I run, play video games, and enjoy the rain!
I’m really good at
Writing, art, steel pan, finding things to laugh about, analysing things which probably don't need to be analysed if we're really going to be honest about it, improving on recipes.
The first things people usually notice about me
Apparently (taken from a quick poll of mostly-unhelpful friends): Posture, breasts, and a nice smile. Whatever that means.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: almost anything by Guy Gavriel Kay, Laurie R King, Ian Rankin. Also; Good Omens (and Gaiman in general), Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher, Scott Lynch, and about sixty-five others I'll think of as soon as I stop writing. If all else fails, I fall back on political fantasy, and mystery novels set in Europe.

Movies: I don't watch movies very seriously - I enjoy fun movies that aren't really very Good, like the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and also the occasional classic. I like action as long as I can be doing something else while I'm watching it, and horror/thrillers as long as no one's going to make fun of me for jumping at loud noises. I'm really not big on comedies, romantic or otherwise.

Tv: Leverage, West Wing, Glee, Game of Thrones, Mythbusters, Masterchef Australia, White Collar, Castle, Sherlock, Doctor Who, X-Men Evolution. Also Legend of Korra, Young Justice, JLU, Archer, South Park, Family Guy. Beyond that, basically, anything food-based or heist-based is an instant win. I've also enjoyed my fair share of anime.

Music: Oh good god, pick a genre and chances are that I like at least one or two things from it. I absolutely refuse to get on board with musical elitism - in part because I think it's ridiculous to arbitrarily decide that something's Good or Bad music just because of personal taste, and in part because I have an apparently regrettable tendency to like things that get me made fun of.

Food: I love flavours almost across the board, with the exception of blue cheese, brussel sprouts, and eggplant. I don't cook much for myself, but I love cooking and experimenting for other people.

Games (not on the list, but whatever): Assassin's Creed franchise, Bastion, Borderlands2, Skyrim, the Lego games, Sims 3, Civilization 5, Akham Asylum and City, Portal 1 and 2, Okami
Six things I could never do without
Music - playing pan/singing/piano/drums, or just listening and getting lost
Humour - laughing, being laughed with, silly jokes and subtle wit
Hugs - especially on grey days
Language - words are amazing!
High heels - and maybe nailpolish while I'm at it. Also, Mascara.
Friends - including family, or maybe family including friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Too many things. I've never been able to zone out or daydream, so I'm always thinking about something, possibly more than one something... (Tropes and plots of That Thing on TV, things to do within the next week, that word I was trying to think of the other day, &c) It gets annoying, sometimes, but I've always enjoyed being able to figure things out, so I guess I wouldn't change it if I had the choice. Lately, it's a fairly good bet that at least part of my brain is thinking about stories - either the one I'm reading, or the one I'm writing.
On a typical Friday night I am
either curled up at my computer with a video game or a tv show, hanging out with with friends (and sometimes board games), or doing something entirely unplanned with whoever managed to drag me out last minute.
You should message me if
Well clearly, if you're interested in what you've read so far (willingness to cut a girl some slack when it comes to form-filling eloquence would be appreciated beyond belief).

You should message me if you're more interested in making a new friend than you are in getting laid tonight (if that's your first priority from me, chances are you're not going to get it); if you have a sense of humour, a brain, and a wicked side; if you like conversations and banter; if you know any good restaurants I should try.

If you want to know more about me, I guess, want to get to know each other a bit better and see how it goes!
