My self-summary
Hi! Ima Heckler should let you know that I am quick witted and value humor. I'm happy with who I am. I love creativity in all formats; I paint, sculpt and write, but truly love music, photography, dance, theater and anything handmade. I really like to pick.....the modern way of talking about looking for antiques or visiting yard sales or flea markets!

I am not so much an outdoor person, but who can beat the redwoods or the ocean for inspiration and peace? I've lived in Austin and San Francisco before moving to the East Coast: Ithaca, NY. I am thrilled to be back in the Bay Area! I'm overtly excited about finally getting affordable senior housing ~ now, just hoping I fit in the space.... it is smaller than what I have at the moment and being a collector, artist and creator, I'm a bit worried that my STUFF will overtake the living space!

I'm a big woman with a lot of class. I love beautiful clothes and I'm nuts about leaves a lot to the imagination! Once had a BLT Party (Black Tie, Lingerie or Toga)! You just wouldn't believe what people will wear in public! Plus I scored a literally unknown talent to provide the music for my party......Alejandro Escovedo. I'd love to meet up with him again and ask if he remembers the crazy broad in the black bustier at that party back in Austin, TX!

I have a compassionate, caring side, and spend much of my time/ life working for peace and justice....this is everything from feeding the hungry to working with the homeless, advocating for equal rights for low income people and women. I am very left of center.

I prefer dogs, but do not currently have one, prefer chocolate to any other decadent treat, and hotels over camping.

I'm completely baffled by "chemistry" ~ I'm open to everyone because I just don't know who will have that certain je ne sais quoi that relates directly to chemistry. Humor is on the list; I know that I like to laugh. You'll have to be your own judge.
I also have begun to realize that I'd like to meet someone entrepreneurial by nature...... life is ongoing and I would love to connect with a person with similar interests to keep moving, exploring, producing and looking for yet one more artistic challenge!
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm working on reinventing myself....this is the third time ON PURPOSE that I've moved to the Bay Area and fully expect to stay....finally! I just recently found out that I have selling space in STUFF on Valencia in San Francisco, so with what I already have "picked", my journey begins both in a new home and with a new project that will bring desired adventure.
I’m really good at
friendship, creative endeavors, planning, organizing and caring for people. I trust easily enough but have had my fair share of scam artists trying to pull one over on me. I'm kindhearted but there is no sap who lives here. I'd rather give my money to the guy on the corner with a cardboard sign or someone playing music on the streets. They are transparent enough for me.
The first things people usually notice about me
is my sense of humor. I'm quick witted, somewhat sarcastic, easy to be around and really love to laugh ~ even at myself! I'm very sensitive to hospitality and strive to provide warmth and caring to everyone I meet. The ultimate goal is to accept people for who they are. That's the toughest thing sometimes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite Book: FATHER JOE THE MAN WHO SAVED MY SOUL by Tony Hendra. Also love anything by Merton, Richard Rohr, THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS by Vanessa Diffenbaugh (seriously, the most enlightening of my recent reads).
Favorite Movies: Pretty Woman, Fences, Manchester by the Sea
Favorite Show on Television: I love any good story! This is Us, How to Get Away with Murder, Scandal, The Good Wife and Steve Harvey are also thought provoking, complicated and fun. Downton Abbey, Charlie Rose. My least favorites are jazz & Nashville Country.......although there are exceptions to every rule, like Latin Jazz and Texas "Country" if you can call it that......Lyle Lovett, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Willie; it's hard to have lived in Austin and not like the music scene. Always at the top of the list are The Beatles.
Favorite Food: This is hard because I'm going through a period where nothing sounds or really tastes that great. I do eat meat but I'm trying to wean myself off of it and be more Vegetarian. After living in Austin for so many years, I can always fall back on Tex-Mex or, even better, Mexican Cuisine!
Six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the challenges of life, how fear has over-ridden our country.
On a typical Friday night I am
ready to go out for dinner and plan the weekend!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was once top seeded in a tennis tournament only to fall to my defeat because both bra straps broke. It was funny and sad and totally embarrassing. It was before there was such a thing as sports bras!
You should message me if
If you think of yourself as a great friend, a hopeless romantic who loves to kiss, someone who has the capacity to inspire and lives within 50 miles of the Bay area and........ if you are a man who loves women of substance both with curves and brains, please say hello!
