Having both a degree in design and one in fine art, and even though my day job isn't as entrenched in these things as it used to be, I still keep my skills up in design, painting and drawing with a variety of creative projects.
I also travel a bit and I predict I'll be traveling a little more in the future. For instance, I'd like to visit my fourth continent either this year or the next and I'll be boning up on my Spanish, so if anyone would like to guess where I'm thinking or would like to volunteer to help me NOT butcher the Spanish language, that would be cool, too!
Who am I searching for? Someone to share in searching out new things, whether that be a new restaurant in Milwaukee, or just a road trip for the weekend. Someone also who would like to get a cup of coffee and talk about the cool stuff we are working on or maybe just go for a walk and take in the scenery. You get extra points if you are interested in architecture, design and more intriguing ways of making the world a better place!
*Full disclosure: I got into the Cure relatively late so I haven't made it all the way through the catalog. I'm much more of Filter fan, and if you are too, contact me right now!
Otherwise, I have a few business ideas I'm working on and I paint, as well as working on my MBA... surprisingly they ARE a lot of work.
It also seems that people think I know where the drinks are, so I've risen to the challenge - go ahead, ask me where the beer is! I know!
Recently, it seems I look like the sort of person who'd like to buy a Lincoln MKS , and perhaps I would, but not right now.
Otherwise it's probably my glasses.
Music is a very important component of my life. I have very wide ranging tastes, including metal, EDM, punk/post rock, indie, a bit of classical and the stuff that's coming out of the Chicago jazz scene. I'm always on the search for more music.
With that said, here's the music picks: Shellac, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, Debussy, Britten, the Constantines, Stripmall Architecture, Deadmaus, Bottomless Pit, Art of Noise, Filter, Photek, Wang Chung, Machinehead, etc.
Mmm, movies...I'll do the blockbusters or the independents. Some favorites : the Grand Budapest Hotel, Inception, Adjustment Bureau, The Man with One Red Shoe, Wedding Crashers, PI, Sneakers, Tucker, Renaissance, The Quiet Man
Food: I'll go anything really, I have a hard time with German and Japanese food - I'd really like to like them so I'm just hoping that the last 3-4 times for each was just a bad experience ;)
Update: I've now had a number of great experiences with Japanese, so I'm down with that, now, too!
4. Spell check
Update: it is not weird to take them back, it seems.
