I am not ready to call myself Old and Wise just yet, but I also feel like I'm slowly pulling away from Young and Stupid.
OK...I'm not really an International Felon (at least, not anymore), but it's kind of a funny story! If you ask me about it, I might be willing to share.
I was bitten by the Travel Bug a few years ago, and after 26+ countries I am still trying to find a vaccine. I will get to 7 continents before I die. 4 down, three to go. And those other ones that are just really big islands.
Update: Since returning home after my last long trip, I am focused now on getting some roots planted. Somewhere. That means finding a better job than the one I have now, buying a house, and doing the "grown-up" thing. That said, I still take shorter trips whenever I can. I just work them around work vacations now like most others.
I love weekend roadtrips, snowboarding, rollerblading, rock climbing, camping, 4-wheeling, and just hanging out at my family's mountain cabin in front of the fire for the weekend, reading, or writing a book, or having a few drinks with a few friends.
I hate to sit down to dinner on Sunday and feel like I've wasted the weekend.
And speaking of dinner, I like my vegetables raw and crunchy, my pasta al dente, and my beer cold.
I enjoy going out to dinner, or staying in and pretending I know how to cook. I can follow a recipe, but usually wing it. Will you be my taste tester? I like wine, but don't know how to pick a good bottle. Two-Buck Chuck (from TJ's) anyone?
My date will make me laugh as often as I make her laugh. Her presence will bring a smile to everyone's face. She is a natural beauty, but in a down-to-Earth, girl-next-door, kind of way. She is honest. She keeps herself healthy and fit because that is her lifestyle.
She knows the difference between "you're" & "your," and "there," "their," & "they're," and uses them correctly when writing an email.
She is a girl next door type who isn't afraid to go camping with me on the weekends in the woods, and can still come home and shower and change and turn heads when we go out to dinner in the city.
Having said all that, I don't really have a "type" of woman that I date. I am attracted to what I am attracted to, and that is ever changing.
I am kind, charming, and well-travelled
Some people live to work, others work to LIVE. Which one are you?
I try not to watch reality TV, but I must say I enjoy the train wreck that is the first few weeks of American Idol auditions. The middle months of that show are a waste of time. And I might tune in again for the final two or three. UPDATE: OK, that's a lie. I can get totally hooked on Reality TV. But I really try not to, and I am able to skip it if Real Life is happening. :)
I make a reality show exception for Fear Factor. Love it. I want to go on Couples Fear Factor! I can totally beat those clowns! I might have a little trouble with the eating of frappd maggots, but otherwise, I'm coming home a millionaire! Now, don't you want to be on the winning team?!
UPDATE: My new obsession is Wipeout! That show is all about endurance (of which I have little), and hey, it looks like fun!
Movies- Fight Club, Office Space, Swingers, The Princess Bride.
Music- Pearl Jam, The Cat Empire (Australian), Live, Cold Play, Travis, The Doors, too many others to mention.
Don't bother messaging me if you are overly Conservative and really really really love, admire, and respect our last president. We just won't "click."
And you should message me if you can tell me the answer to this question:
What is red, and smells like blue paint?
