My self-summary
Okay, like everyone else I'm too complex to summarize in a couple paragraphs, so be prepared for the generalizations. Between being a more expressive individual and putting a lot of value on the type of personal connection that can only develop over time, I'm not a normal guy by most standards. I am stubborn when it comes to certain principles but for the most part I am just trying to survive this crazy world and making it a point to show appreciation to other people who try to be candid and thoughtful along the way.

Some words and phrases I would use to describe myself, or what I try to be, include: INFJ, open-minded, inquisitive, playful, organized, affectionate, creative, respectful, logical, outdoorsy, and overall a strange and intricate variety of paradoxes.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently working full time at a job to get by, while simultaneously trying to find a real career opportunity based on previous positions within the development departments of 2 NGO's.

Working in development was amazing! I really enjoyed the purpose of the work, the challenges, and a lot of the people involved. Which is why I am chasing my dream of working full-time for a NGO/non-profit that respectfully gives disadvantaged individuals opportunities to build better lives.
I’m really good at
Active listening, over-thinking by most standards (wait, should I admit that?), getting through my to do lists, reading subtexts, cuddling, and getting too much enjoyment out of bad puns.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know, nobody's ever told me what they notice. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Visit From the Goon Squad, The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love, Q.E.D.: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter, Bossypants, The Sandman Comics, The Drama of the Gifted Child, The Odyssey, The Gay Science, The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Music: Muse, Garbage, Kaki King, Ratatat, Miles Davis, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snow Patrol, RJD2, Alicia Keys, Explosions in the Sky, Sonic Youth, Tool, David Bowie, The Arctic Monkeys, Jose Gonzalez, Jimi Hendrix, Al Green, Signal Hill, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Beatles, Marvin Gaye... There's SO much music that I love!

Movies: The Champions, Amelie, Burn After Reading, The Royal Tenenbaums, Finding Nemo, Little Miss Sunshine, Army of Darkness, Lost Angels: Skid Row is my Home, Vertigo, Pulp Fiction, Blade, What about Bob?, Beetlejuice, It's a Wonderful Life, and Requiem for the American Dream.

Shows: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Orange is the New Black, Bob's Burgers, Jessica Jones, Cosmos, Friday Night Lights, Community, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Charmed, Hannibal, Futurama, and currently watching Luke Cage.

Food: Italian food is probably my favorite (Bruschetta, Risotto, Gnocchi, Pesto, Frittata, mmm.). I also really enjoy certain types of Thai, Mexican, Chinese, and Indian foods. Throw in some fresh fruit, breakfast foods, any form of chocolate for dessert, and that pretty much covers all my favorites.
Six things I could never do without
1. Curiosity
2. Something interesting to read
3. laughter
4. Music
5. Personal goals
6. A logical explanation
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about all of life's unexpected outcomes and what they mean for everyone involved.

The little dreams that keep me motivated (traveling to Italy, going on a road trip along the coast, kayaking, adopting a pit bull, etc)

Why my love for dogs continues to grow as my faith in humanity slowly diminishes.

And you know weird analogies and puns, current events, gender, education, love, physics, music, language, and ultimately life, the universe, and everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
I enjoy going to art walks, catching up with friends and family, seeing some live music, or just staying in to read or watch something new.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Considering how important political values are in this crazy time we are living in, I will admit that I am very far to the left. I align most with the Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) when it comes to matters of principle and the strategies used to resist and reform policy on the federal, state, and local levels.
