My self-summary
People call me Bubbles; as far as nicknames go, it's a pretty good one. No-one calls me that in New York though, I think that New York isn't as keen on nicknames as the rust belt.
What I’m doing with my life
I like my job- I'm a freelance lighting person; I design and set up event lighting. There's a lot of odd things I've seen in the random shows that happen here in the city.

I'm also doing the whole school thing for engineering, mainly because it dawned on me that as fun as lighting is now, it's a pretty sucky career when you're 50. Yay for responsibility and planning ahead!
The first things people usually notice about me
Tattoos, I imagine. Especially my sleeve. And then I get tall and skinny a lot too. I try and cultivate a kind of nerd-chic style, but the 'chic' part of that description might be up for debate.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like stuff that has new ideas and themes, especially if it explores the way it structures itself. So I like a lot of weird stuff like some of the trippy indie video games, confusing and abstract theatre, whatever.

My favorite books though are some of the more stereotypically masculine stuff; David Foster Wallace, Fitzgerald, McCarthy, Kafka, Pynchon, et al. I love the importance they convey, the magnitude of the themes and symbolism explored; Yukio Mishima is my current favorite for just how dark his ideas are. This list makes me cringe at times with how white and male it is, so I'm also usually searching out things to help correct that.

I love 80s sci-fi movies. Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, Alien, Star Wars, Big Trouble in Little China. The color, the atmosphere, the adventure, it always gets to me. Also, MST3k.
The six things I could never do without
Things I can't do without, well let's just say beautiful things. Poetry, music, paintings, whatever. I am a fan of the arts. All of the arts. I like experimental stuff, be it theater, books, music, games, tv, whatever.

And then pretend I put down something really interesting for the other however many I still need. Pretend that they were interesting though; we'll have to make it believable. And trust me, I wouldn't have put something down that wasn't interesting.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I like to have random conversations with people, either famous or just people I know. Funny how I always seem to be a lot wittier in these imaginary discussions than when I carry them out, isn't it? Shame, that.

I think I'll start handing people scripts, that way I'll realize my true conversation mastery. That's not weird at all.
On a typical Friday night I am
wandering around seeing if I can run into some trouble. I always fail and find adventure instead. Trouble is afraid of me.

On Saturdays I go trouble hunting.

Sundays: trouble roast (with a pineapple glaze!)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I ride my bike like I have a death wish. It's my guilty pleasure- I know I shouldn't but it just feels so damn good. I do my damnedest not be an asshole, but sometimes I do run a red that I shouldn't have, and so let me just announce to the internet right here and now: I'm sorry.
You should message me if
You want to. Please, if you don't want to message me, nobody's twisting your arm.

Unless somebody is, in which case I'd think you'd want to message me, to stop someone from twisting your arm. Mention that to me in your message, though, because I've got a few choice questions for the person that's twisting people's arms so that they'll message me.
