My self-summary
I'm an physicist and an engineer, a writer and a musician. I drive a stick shift, enjoy a fine glass of whiskey, and hit the links whenever I can. I'm an INTJ, drink lots of coffee, and bike to work regularly. I'm disciplined yet laid-back, brilliant but lazy. Outgoing and friendly but extremely introverted. A dyed-in-the-wool cynic who still finds a way to be optimistic. I'm a mixed bag.
What I’m doing with my life
Daytime: working as a quality engineer for an amazing medical device company
Nighttime: writing a novel, playing golf or volleyball, sleeping
Weekends: playing guitar, spending time with friends, drinking several variations of alcohol
I’m really good at
Cooking and grilling food; mimicking; metaphors and personifications
The first things people usually notice about me
Vertical stature and imposing build. Tattoos.

I probably look scary at first glance but I'm really not.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
All I ask in a book is that it makes me think and keeps me interested/entertained.

I like TV/movies that range from mindless entertainment to enthralling, thought-provoking character dramas. It's Always Sunny and Archer. Hell on Wheels and House of Cards.

My music tastes are wide and varied, but some genres are cordoned off (rap/hip-hop... not my thing.)

My favorite food is meat. If you're a vegan, it probably won't work out.
The six things I could never do without
Music (I think I'd rather be blind than deaf if I had to choose)
My closest friends
Coffee, in excessive amount
Musical instruments (guitar, keyboard, and voice)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future and what it might hold, on scales both small and vast.
Music, and why it is probably the single greatest discovery of mankind.
Politics, and how it most often brings out the very worst in humanity.
Human nature.
On a typical Friday night I am
I've been spending Fridays of the summer months biking to local brewpubs with some friends to drink and talk about life and all that.

When winter rolls around, that will likely cease and I'll instead get together with friends and try making a new, alcoholic, usually warm/hot beverage each week.

This makes me sound like a drunk. I swear I'm not, I just appreciate a good libation!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My favorite part of the day, on days I'm not biking there, is driving to and from work singing with the radio.

Also, though I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, and never will, I love the smell of cigarette smoke. Go figure.
You should message me if
you know what you're looking for.

I'm looking for someone I can sit and drink whiskey with while we hold worthwhile conversations about life and our existence and whatever else crosses our minds. Someone who isn't bashful about downing a greasy burger and pint of beer with me from time to time. Someone who loves the idea of taking off for the weekend on an impromptu camping or hiking trip somewhere far from civilization. Someone who can relate with my cynicism, but who also tries to find the silver linings wherever possible. Someone who would stick with me through thick and thin, hell or high water, whatever comes. Someone who will challenge me and insist I do the same for them. Someone who will sing loudly with me in the car. Someone who's in it for the long haul.

I'm not interested in flings. I'm looking for a companion I can spend the rest of my life with. If this sounds like you, let me know.
