I passed my Advanced Sommelier (wine) certification and spent a year in medical school, yet I work in finance.
I still have a passion for wine and will likely find myself back in the industry. Working as a Sommelier has led me to positions at some of the best restaurants in Honolulu, San Francisco, Napa, and Las Vegas.
I define my life by the moments and experiences, the people who have come into my life (both currently in it and those who have come and gone), and every decision I've made (both right and wrong).
I recently returned from an extended trip through Roma, Firenze, Monaco, Cassis, Barcelona, Valencia, Propriano (Corsica), Budapest, Prague and Amsterdam. Previous to this trip, my last few were to Sapporo, Sydney, and Auckland.
I travel to experience culture. To learn something greater than I am. No matter how much I think I know, traveling has a way of proving me wrong.
Years ago I dedicated every year of my life to learning to make different cultural cuisines. I've since studied French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Indian, SE Asian, Japanese, and Moroccan.
Movies: Any genre. Horror is a guilty pleasure, but I also like cheesy comedies. Not a huge fan of Westerns.
Shows: All the current cliches, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Music: As much as I hate to admit to it, indie rock. However, I can listen to anything except for Reggae.
Food: Way too many to mention.
Kitchen Knives: to cook. I put a lot of value in having a sharp knife.
Netflix: to binge on, plus I own stock
Good Shoes: to take me to the places I want to go
Passport: for the same reason as above
Someone to share life with.
