My self-summary
I am an outgoing person who is kind and fun! I feel strongly about social justice (equity in education, in particular, but other forms of justice, too), treating the earth with reverence, and that disco is not dead. I have recently decided that eating good food with friends and sweating in nature are basically all I need to be happy, so I try to do those two things as much as possible.

I've been in the dating world for a long time, and I'm ready to find a great person that I can commit to, love, and learn from. Bring it on! I'm also not adverse to meeting new friends.

Also, I still miss Philip Seymour Hoffman. :)
What I’m doing with my life
For work, I'm an educational consultant--supporting teachers, schools, and districts to better serve low-income kids. Other than work, I am a beekeeper, am learning how to play the drums, as well as having a good old fashioned mid-life crisis...the good kind. More on that later. I like to cut wood with my maul, work on a close-by farm (I helped castrate a pig once, but mostly I help them weed), hike and run in the woods, and explore fun places in Portland I haven't been to yet. Hijinx is important to me.
I’m really good at
rowing boats, middle school math, baking pies, organizing others to do fun things together, and generally saying yes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm super blonde, and pretty enthusiastic.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, The Known World, The God of Small Things, Officer Friendly, In Cold Blood, Fun Home, anything by Murakami, Ondaadje, or Junot Diaz, and Moby Dick.

Movies: Mad Max, Station Agent, Win Win, The Fifth Element, 28 Days Later, Girl Fight, Hello and I must be going...

Music: disco, MJ, funk, soul, house. Also, Metric, Lucinda Williams, The Killers, the Ting Tings, Beyonce.

Food: Mmmm, food. I love food.
The six things I could never do without
maple trees, friends and family, running in the woods, stupid jokes, school reform, short skirts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I guess I think a lot about where my most recent life changes are going to take me. I also think about where my keys are. And when I will be in the woods next. And should I text you? Is it too soon? (I'm not that suave when it comes to dating, FYI.) And I sometimes think about school reform or my new hot blue leather jacket. Ok, it's pleather.
On a typical Friday night I am
working on a project with my roomies, watching a movie, going to bed early, cooking dinner for friends, going to SPACE, or if I can rally my friends, going out dancing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You have a kissing booth story to look forward to...
You should message me if
you're kind, honest, fun(ny), and up for adventure. You're also looking for someone to build a kick-ass partnership with or who you want to go hear some live music with.
