My name's James Dorian England.
I'm a rock-based art fag from the arse-end of Manchester. I am currently moving between Preston and Manchester as I'm currently studying Fine Art at UCLAN and loving it.
I enjoy reading, drawing, photography, writing (v. rarely) and playing games. Music plays an important part of my life. I'm also getting into the Steampunk subculture.
I play a lot of tabletop RPGs and am the securatary for the RPG society at uni. I mainly play DnD 3.5, New World of Darkness and Scion. I've ran Unhallowed Metropolis and I want to run Victoriana and Call of Cthulhu at some point. I'm also intersting into joining a LARP group when I can be arsed getting up early on a sunday to join my local one. I play Magic the Gathering when I can afford to, I mainly play the EDH format.
I watch a lot of anime, Dr Who and various films. I also read a lot, mainly fantasy and sci-fi. I'm willing to take recommendations of animes, books, films and TV shows. I also play viseo games, I own a Xbox360, PS2, Wii, N64 and I have a Steam account. I mainly play fantasy RPGs though I do occasionally break into other genres.
I have a habit of making words up.
I am inquisitive, eclectic, and idealistic.
Movies: LotR trilogy, Sweeney Todd, PotC movies, Boondock Saints, Sleepy Hollow, V for Vendetta, Trainspotting, Pan's Labyrinth, Pulp Fiction, The Lost Boys (and many more)
Music: AFI, Bright Eyes, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Alkaline Trio, Abney Park, Deathstars, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Queen, Sigur Ros, Tokio Hotel, Alice Cooper, I Am Ghost, The Smiths, The Cure, Joy Division (and tons more)
then there's the usual life, love, sex etc
and how to adapt thing into tabletop RPGs... I'm currently working on trying to adapt the anime Darker Than Black, into either a D20 system (like Dungeons and Dragons) or into a D10 (like New world of Darkness/Scion)
at home (probably being creative or reading)
walking (somewhere else)
I prefer muchly long, winding, tangental conversations to short "hi how are you" chats. Anything from "how awesome is this film/book/band" to "I wonder if the love/hate of marmite is genetic". impossible questions, dodgy philosophy and "what if..."
or if you would like to recommend me a book, game, film, anime or TV show
