My self-summary
This isn't as much a summary as a ramble. I like to think I march to a different drummer, sometimes several different drummers. I am a History geek, I admit it. I can spend hours wandering around a museum, or historic house or site. I always wondered what it was like to live “back then”, why did they do it that way?? I have always been fascinated by the American Frontiersman, especially the 18th century frontier and the rocky mountain fur trade. Eventually I became a Revolutionary war reenactor and aspiring living historian.

I love spending time in the mountains. They are the bones of the earth. I always feel closer to creation when I’m in the mountains. Walking, driving, or floating, being in the mountains is exciting. I can always find a place to stop and get my feet (and a line) wet in a river or creek, wonder what bent the rock strata like that, or check out local stores or flea markets.

I prefer rivers to the “beach”. For me a good summer afternoon is floating down river in my kayak, (easy on the whitewater please) throw out a line, catch some Smallmouth or Blue gills, or just admire the scenery ( I have an extra kayak). Bonus points if I see an eagle or heron. I like being on or by the ocean sometimes I just can’t lay out on the beach and roast. I have to be doing something or find a beach where I can see more sand than blankets. One item on my bucket list is to go out on a Schooner for a day or two, three masts would be nice but two will do.

You might ask if I ever stay in town? I like to walk around in Richmond’s old neighborhoods, that history thing again. I have become interested in art recently, and find myself wandering around the VMFA. I am not trained in painting or sculpture, nor even very knowledgeable but I am picking up a little here and there. I like live Jazz, the beer at Capital Ale House, dinner all over town, or just sitting close and talking.

I am Eclectic, a History geek, and an Adventurer

You would drive 200 miles to ride a train for 20 miles.

You like good conversation and DON"T like talking about nascar, basketball, or what scandal the celebs are into now.

Or are just looking for someone to go to a museum with
