My self-summary
Hey there!

Back in the South West after a few years away. Looking to see if there's actually anything fun to do out here in the countryside :p.

Last year, I finished my Masters degree in the Philosophy and Sociology of Science, which was pretty unusual but quite fun as I got to do a dissertation on video game moral choice systems.

In my spare time I enjoy watching awesome movies, and I have been making my way through the IMDB Top 250 movies list. I also spent far more time than I'd like to admit playing video games and I particularly love adventure games like Skyrim, Fallout and Zelda. Dragon Age Inquisition is my current addiction.

Cooking and reading are also passions of mine, and I always seem to have a book or a comic on the go.
What I’m doing with my life
Recently returned to the South West from the big city. Working in rec to pay the bills and save up for some travelling.

Training and getting in shape for (hopefully) getting into the Navy.
I’m really good at
Making terrible puns

Making awful pop culture references

Movie analysis

Playing support roles (games)

Making cinnamon rolls
The first things people usually notice about me
Within about 5 seconds I'm sure people will have twigged that I'm rather a nerd; the glasses do seem to be a give away...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am currently working my way through the IMDB Top 250 Movies, and I am loving it. however, I am a complete sucker for a nerdy movie, or some kind of Western.

Top 5 Movies:
1. Back to the Future
2. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
3. For a Few Dollars More
4. T-2
5. Scott Pilgrim

Book-wise, I flip between serious science fiction with political messages, and ridiculously nerdy fantasy books. My book case is more or less a confused mess.

Top 5 Books:
1. 1984 - George Orwell
2. Lords and Ladies - Terry Pratchett
3. American Gods - Neil Gaiman
4. The Final Empire - Brandon Sanderson
5. The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald

I love Game of Thrones, Vikings, and have recently started watching Revolution. Not much of a TV watcher, but I may or may not watch far too many cartoons online...
I am an adult. Clearly.

Top 5 TV Shows:
1. Game of Thrones
2. Community
3. Futurama
4. Boardwalk Empire
5. Adventure Time

Recently, my favorite food type has to be Moroccan or Turkish.

I am also a video games nerd, to the extent that my MA Dissertation is concerned with morality and violence in game mechanics.

Top 5 Video Games:
1. Skyrim
2. Dragon Age Inquisition
3. Borderlands 2
4. Ocarina of Time
5. One of the better Pokemon games (Soul Silver maybe?)
The six things I could never do without
1. A cup of something FULL of caffeine...
2. A TV show to marathon
3. Something with an internet connection
4. A book or comic on the go
5. Friends and time to spend with them
6. Oxygen?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics, video games, nerdery, super awesome things, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Chilling at a bar with some friends, or maybe having an evening in with pizza, games, and terrible/terribly brilliant movies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really hate mannequins, especially the ones with the articulated hands...creep me out...
You should message me if
If you are interesting and are up for chatting about awesome things! Bonus points for any nerdy interests :)
