My self-summary
Born and raised on the Iowa plains (Des Moines). I have a great sense of humor, often sarcastic. I’m definitely laid back and simple, a “jeans n’ tee shirt” guy, never been trendy. I don't 'style my hair or wear name brands (except Adidas shoes). I’m kind of goofy (borderline dorky) and definitely a “kid at heart” (I still love watching old cartoons and Disney movies and hope to do so with my own kids someday). Family, friends, and music....that's what I live for. I work full time at Wells Fargo doing a job that I’m not exactly excited about but I know it won’t be forever. I graduated from Iowa State University w/ a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences w/ an emphasis in Social Sciences. I own a small, old house in the Beaverdale area of Des Moines and live there with my dog, Axl and my cat, Kurt. Ultimately, I want to own a bar/club in Des Moines. It is the music that binds us. I am too young to have seen some of my favorite bands live, so I try to see everything I can now. I also enjoy live theater; I attend at least a couple shows a year at the Des Moines Civic Center and occasionally the Des Moines Playhouse. I love live comedy as well and will occasionally catch a show at the Funny Bone comedy club. I believe in supporting my local economy and commerce. I loving going to the Des Moines Zoo, the Science Center of Iowa, Living History Farms, the Iowa State Fair, local music festivals, beer festivals, art festivals, bacon festivals, etc. I believe in supporting local athletics; I love going to Iowa Cubs games & Des Moines Buccaneers hockey games. I hate to see sports teams come to Des Moines only to have to leave because they don’t get enough support. I think people that say that there is nothing to do in Des Moines are just boring themselves. There’s always plenty to do in Des Moines; but I do like to get away every once in a while. I love to travel but have yet to leave the U.S. and would love to see Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Fiji & Tahiti someday. I love weekend getaways to Chicago to see my favorite band play or to see a Cubs game, or to KC to visit friends. I have friends in LA, DC, Denver, and St Louis that I don’t get to see as often but love to visit when I can. I love to be outdoors and being near water, whether it is just floating on a raft at the beach or being on a boat fishing. I like to play disc golf even though I’m not very good at it. I will be either the quietest or the loudest person in a room; usually the loudest. I enjoy red wine, a shot of good whiskey, and a good micro beer but don’t like being drunk. I enjoy drinking on occasion but am past the stage of ‘drinking to be drunk’. I will not drink a domestic beer anymore. I can’t stand small, ‘yappy’ dogs or ‘toy’ dogs that you can fit in a purse. I can’t, and don’t particularly like to, cook, dance, or sing. I may do these things if I have enough to drink. I wouldn’t mind finding a girl that could at least cook. I have 2 music inspired tattoos, 1 on each leg. I may get a couple more smalls ones in the future; they would also be on my legs. I don’t particularly like tattoos on woman. I don’t mind a small tattoo on a woman’s lower back or ankle or foot or shoulder, but I don’t necessarily find chest tattoos or arm tattoos on a girl attractive. I find most women to be sexier without tattoos. I always have my camera on me to capture memories. I like sports and am a Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks fan but honestly don’t follow the Blackhawks that closely. I can make myself laugh out loud and I laugh out loud often; even by myself while watching the same episode of King of Queens for the hundredth time. I’m fairly predictable; I sport 3 different looks/facial hair styles depending on what season it is. I wear a different Nirvana/Kurt Cobain shirt every day of the months of February and April to celebrate his birthday and remember his life/contribution to music. I purposely exaggerate my sneezes and yawns just for fun. I get extremely turned on when women wear short skirts and dresses. I like to talk dirty in bed and like it even more when a girl does the same. I am not exactly a morning person, but if I were to wake up next to the right person I would be happy to wake up at any time. Words to describe myself; Traditional, Sentimental, Loyal, Funny, Fun…I love going out w/ friends and being sociable, but more and more enjoy just staying home reading or watching movies w/ my pets. I'm looking for a smart, beautiful, and funny woman who enjoys music, arts, and travel but would also like just staying at home and watching a movie with me on the couch.
What I’m doing with my life
I ask myself that every day. Pursuing happiness, and discovering who I am. I hope to one day own my own bar/music venue.
I’m really good at
* Making people laugh
* Listening and connecting to others
* Being sarcastic
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. My laid-back attitude and chill sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: I live for music. I can appreciate most everything but stick primarily to 60's and 70's classic rock, 80's hair metal, 90's grung and alternative. Some of my favorite bands include: Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, Local H, 311, Aerosmith (definite top 5), Velvet Revolver, Foo Fighters, The Urge, Zebrahead, 2 Skinnee J's, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, the Expendables, Bob Marley, the Beatles, the Stones, Ozzy, Metallica, NIN, Korn, Green Day, Offspring, Pearl Jam, Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd, Queen, the Who, BB King, Elvis, System of A Down, Slipknot, Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, Scorpions, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, Skid Row, Tesla, Kiss, RHCP, Blink 182, Motley Crue, Kingdom Come, AC/DC, the Doors, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Audioslave, Jimi, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, ect......I love going to concerts; there's nothing like seeing one of your favorite bands live or goin' to a show w/ some friends. I used to go to at least 20+ shows a year; I traveled all over the Midwest to go to concerts. But now that I’ve seen just about everyone that I’ve wanted to, and some several times, I would rather hang around home with someone I care about. I will always love live music, and will still go to see my favorite bands live, but I won’t travel too far away anymore and I don’t need to go to every show like I used to. (I've seen most everyone listed here)....

Books: Anything by Stephen King or Michael Crichton. Recently I've finished Slash, Misery and finally got around to finishing Congo, IT, Night Shift, Quick Change, Micro, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.....I want to start reading some more classic literature and the biographies about all my favorite musicians that I collected years ago but have yet to read.

Movies: I spend a lot of time watching comedies and action-adventure films, and I never get tired of watching my favorite movies over and over. Some of my favorites include Stand By Me, Shawshank Redemption, IT, Indiana Jones series, both Star Wars trilogies, all Star Trek movies, Tremors, Major League, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Dick Tracy, TMNT, Goonies, Willy Wonka..., Kingpin, My Cousin Vinny, Revenge of the Nerds, Quick Change, Groundhog's Day, Office Space, Super Troopers, Braveheart, Seven, Back to the Future trilogy, Lord of the Ring trilogy, Rockys (4 is of course the best), Rambo series, Die Hard series, Heat, the DaVinci Code, Sleepers, the Usual Suspects, Amistad, Terminator 2, Wayne's World 1 & 2, most Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, and Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, and Robert Zemeckis movies....I watch a lot of my favorite movies on a regular basis and quote/reference these movies a lot...(I still have more movies on VHS than DVD and use a VCR).

TV: the Simpsons, Married With Children, Three's Company, That 70's Show, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, King of Queens, Mad About You, MacGyver, the A-Team, Coach, CSI's, Criminal Minds, Numbers, 8 Simple Rules..., News Radio, the Office, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Glory Days, Blue Mountain State, Sons of Anarchy, Flight of the Conchords, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park....I watch a lot of TV; thank God for DVR's! I collect a lot of these on DVD.
