My self-summary
Let's get the basic stuff out of the way: I live alone in an apartment. I have a job. I own my own car. I have never been married. I have no kids. I have one cat.

I am a geek (or label of your preference). I like a lot of stereotypically nerdy stuff: comics, video games, sci-fi, etc. That said, I can have ordinary conversations about things without telling you how awesome my level 12 barbarian was (that said, he was pretty kick-ass).

I am also a feminist, I am pro-choice, and I consider myself an LGBT ally. If these are huge problems, feel free to move on to another profile as these topics are important to me, despite having boy-parts and being only attracted to those with girl parts.
What I’m doing with my life
I do records for a county government agency office. If that sounds boring... well you would probably be right. But it's good work, pays the bills and keeps me busy enough to stay out of trouble but no so busy that I come out each day feeling miserable.

As a hobby I also do a (very) small web-series called Comics Are Awesome because I talk about awesome comics and I'm not as creative as I'd like to think.

If you're curious you can check them out at http://geekvision.tv/channels/comicsawesome/
I’m really good at
I'm a pretty decent baker, especially with desserts like pies and cheesecakes.
I tend to absorb a lot of information, being in expert in few minors areas but mostly knowing a tiny bit a lot of things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I once was told that I am one of the calmest people they've ever met. I don't know if that's the first thing they noticed about me, probably not, but it's probably one of the more unique descriptors I've heard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I love to read. Normally I enjoy fantasy, science-fiction, and humor. Some specific examples are Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, Lord of the Rings, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Dresden Files, The Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. Anything by Terry Pratchett or Robert Heinlein. I also loved Michael Chabon's Adventures of Kavalier and Clay.

Comics I won't name all the comics I'm reading but: Ms. Marvel, Gwenpool, Spider-Woman, Black Widow, Squirrel Girl (I like ladies who are awesome), Avengers, Detective Comics, Paper Girls, Chew, Archie (yes, that Archie)

Movies I'm also a bit of movie geek. And love everything from dumb comedies, cheesy horror, riveting dramas, balls-to-the-wall action and even the occasional thought-provoking documentary. And having Netflix for a while now, my list of great films or films I love (not necessarily always the same thing) has grown considerably. Big ones for me include pretty much all of the Marvel Studios films, Royal Tenenbaums, Almost Famous, Batman Begins and Dark Knight, Serenity, Kevin Smith's and Quentin Tarantino's films, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Black Dynamite, The Ring and the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Zombieland, (500) Days of Summer.

Music Not really music, but my radio is most often set to NPR. Or I listen to a podcast. More on topic: The Hamilton soundtrack, Jonathan Coulton, The Beatles, Bif Naked, Billy Joel, Flogging Molly, Garbage, Professor Elemental, Barenaked Ladies, Foo Fighters, Bowling For Soup, Weezer, Tori Amos. I'm one of those types that can listen to most anything and not complain.

Food Food wise I'm willing to try anything, but tend to stick with the classics. Pizza, Cheesecake, a good Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (I'm picky with my Phillies), Mexican. Every once in awhile I get a craving for sushi.

Television Right now the big shows for me are Doctor Who, Breaking Bad, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Leverage, Arrow, The Flash, I cancelled cable so I'm behind on some shows, but hey, that's what Netflix is for. I'm also a big fan of anything Joss Whedon touches, and classic MST3k (Joel or Mike, I swing both ways).

Video Games I can play a lot of games but I tend to lean towards MMOs, RPGs and platformers. The Final Fantasy series, Ratchet & Clank, Psychonauts, Fallout, Metal Gear Solid series, and Batman Arkham series are all favorites. Borderlands 2 has been a constant favorite off and on for over a year.

Comedy Patton Oswalt, Christopher Titus, Ron Funches, Maria Bamford, Kids in the Hall, Upright Citizens Brigade, Chris Hardwick, Paul F. Tomkins
The six things I could never do without
Let's skip over Maslow's hierarchy of needs, since I assume most people need food, shelter, etc. If you don't, please let me know, that's a great ice breaker.
My computer, my internet connection, my TV, my iPhone, Netflix, my cat.
Less materialistically I'd answer: Friends, family, learning new things, finding satisfaction in my job, the ability to create, my cat (he's both lists because I like him for both companionship and because I take enjoyment in him being a warm fluffball)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When am I going to have my next adventure?
How can I improve myself as a person and as well as someone who would like to produce creative content?
On a typical Friday night I am
It all depends really. I'm not much one for clubs or bars, but I'm willing to go where friends are. That might be going to a movie or play, playing a video game, watching Community or old Doctor Who episodes at a friend's place or just an evening at home alone watching Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Lets see, the first thing I do when looking at someone's profile here is scroll down to their choice of books/movies/music/etc. I feel guilty about this as I know that just because someone does or doesn't have the same tastes as mine doesn't mean that we're automatically compatible or incompatible, but I find that I'm more likely to have a conversation with someone if we have at least some common interests.

To further cement my shallowness, then I look at your photos and only after that do I read the full profile from top to bottom. But I do actually read it.

I have a weakness for musicals, especially silly comedy musicals. See Reefer Madness: The Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Rocky Horror, or Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog as examples.

Otherwise I'm an open book and if you have a question, ask.
You should message me if
If you believe in same-sex marriage and all that stuff, because I know too many awesome gay and bisexual people to deal with someone's hating.
If you want to help me learn how to put together a cosplay outfit.
If you don't mind me getting my geek on at times.
If you're not going to go out partying every weekend. I'm not opposed to going out, but just not all the time. Not my thing.
Or if you're at least a little geeky, funny or artsy.
Most importantly if you're looking for a partner, an adventure buddy, a friend and/or seeking the possibility of a relationship.
