My self-summary
I am an ambitious and energetic person and, admittedly, a total nerd. I have a bright personality that I simply refuse to lose even though I live in NYC. I am almost always up for anything (unless it involves like bugs and snakes, I'm not much into them, but I do like hiking). I love, love to laugh. I have an artsy-side, and was professionally trained in ballet, and taking house dance classes (to perform live soon!)
What I’m doing with my life
I am a lawyer at one of those big law firms (part of that ambition thing). In some sort of odd way, I really enjoy my work, but I definitely take out time to read non-law stuffs (non-fiction and fiction - right now I'm on the hunt for my next book!) I also returned to practicing yoga after a few years, which has been an interesting and humbling experience. On Sundays, I sometimes fancy myself as some sort of cook, and might even bring out some kitchen appliance contraptions. I think I'm fairly decent at it, although I don't try and rival actual chefs (I wouldn't say I'm a foodie, but, well, I never turn down an amazing dinner). And other than taking dance classes again, I'm also re-teaching myself to play piano (work in progress for sure since I need to get the piano tuned!)
I’m really good at
I kick butt on the dance floor, and I'm a pretty good singer as well and been known to rock some karoke. I'm also really good at being observant and getting to know people. And generally I'm pretty good at being super outgoing and ridiculous. I am not afraid to speak my mind (which sometimes leads to interesting results!)
The first things people usually notice about me
That I have short, funky hair that I change fairly frequently. I am a bit spontaneous when it comes to my hair, and I enjoy having fun with it (within reason, of course!)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am not a big tracker of my favorites, but here's a sample: recently finish up Kahneman's Thinking Fast and Slow - love that for sure. I love Russian literature, pragmatist philosophy, really enjoy Spanish red wine, big fan of Book of Mormon (the musical). In terms of TV, I watch/have watched Mad Men and Battlestar Galactica and Games of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, etc. For movies, I loved American Hustle and I really liked Her and Blue Jasmine. Princess Bride is all time fav, as is Fear and Loathing and Office Space.

And food - love food and love going out to eat. I also grew up in Texas, so good southwest/Mexican/Tex Mex is always something I look out for.

Music - love it. I have a thing for anything that sounds a bit like the 80s new wave and/or the Smiths, so I love Interpol, Visage, and We Have Band. But I love the 90s too, grunge as well (huge NIN fan from that time period). Throw in some electronica, dance music, and classical too (bit Philip Glass fan), and you'll have a sense of my eclectic tastes.
Six things I could never do without
let's see...(1) friends and family; (2) books; (3) coffee; (4) wine; (5) music!; and (6) a pen and paper so I could write things down.

This seems pretty basic, but then again, I have never understood these types of lists.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This is a really good question. I work a fair bit, so honestly work does take up some space. But I also love music, a lot, and listen to it as much as possible, so I spend a fair amount of time thinking about (or obsessing) about the artists/bands I am super into and when I might get to see them play. Beyond that, I am a nerd, so I love thinking about a new and interesting idea, whether that's philosophy, psychology, etc., etc. I like to quote scientific studies. That's right, I like science. ;-)
On a typical Friday night I am
I can't remember the last time I had a typical Friday night...that is a good question. Sometimes I'm out, and sometimes I'm home - sometimes I work late, but the one constant is that I hope to have a drink in my hand at some point in the evening.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Honestly, I'm not sure that I'm that private of a person, so I have no idea what to put here...
You should message me if
Obvi if you're interested. But I should say something up-front - I am busy and very energetic person. While I think a serious relationship would be awesome (and I'd be willing to make it work for the right person), my life is more conducive to something more casual...although I could be convinced otherwise. ;-)
