Most of my pals say I have a sense of humour that makes me so gosh-darned loveable. I'd like to agree with them, especially when it's so damned FUN to cross the line. Humour, as they say (okay, fine, as I say), is the only kind of cash that can buy a smile.
That's a lesson I learnt during a time when my life wasn't too great. But then, I sat down and read a hilarious post on this online forum I visited at the time and right then, I felt so much better. That's when I decided there's so much in life to laugh about. No matter how heavy life gets, I figure looking on the funny side of things is something everybody can appreciate.
So yeah, I'll also admit I'm a bit of a smart-ass, but I blame that on an over-active intelligence. I've always had a thing for using my noggin to win my battles so let's just say my brains are one of my most favourite things about myself.
Currently, I'm shacking it up in the warmest part of England, taking a Masters course in the least Asian subject you can imagine: yup, Contemporary Literature! The reading's always spectacularly complex and it definitely has a way with giving the ol' noggin some much-needed excercise.
Not surprisingly, I love my superhero movies, and my favourite of the lot has probably got to be the Dark Knight trilogy. But, when I'm not yucking it up with my favourite Bats and Spiders, I'm definitely the kind of guy that be seduced by a little bit of Disney, and a good sci-fi thriller always helps to add some electricity to life.
Again, I love my superhero adaptations. Not a huge fan of Smallville, although I'm still giving it a big thumbs up for making Superman cool again. At the risk of sounding niche, my one true love is the Kamen Rider franchise from Japan; not that every single series I've seen is great, but I can still remember the first time my heart shuddered when a hero died following his dreams and that kind of memory, no one can replace.
Whew, finally something where I won't have to shill my hero-crazy ways. I'm very open with my tastes, although I have a mega-huge passion for 80s Bryan Adams style rock. On the other end of the spectrum, I have a liking for softer styles of music like the ones that play in those relaxation videos you can find on Youtube. Helps that I'm a pianist myself and a lot of them have that kind of sound.
Food-wise, I need to give my homeboys some credit. Malaysian food is the bomb, the best food you can get in the entire South-East Asian region and I will fight you on that. Gimme some char kway teow and belacan chicken, and you will find me wrapped in the cloak that is cullinary ambrosia.
