My self-summary
I'm what happens when an artist studies science.

I like the smell of a leather jacket hanging from my shoulders. I like my rock'n'roll loud, lots of snare, high-hat, and bass drum, with loads of reverb on a blues-riff guitar. I like my steak cooked just until the blood turns brown, but no further.

I like mountain biking because the downhill parts are an unbeatable adrenaline rush...scratch that...talking to a beautiful woman for the first time is an even better rush :) I'm looking for a woman who is mature, and knows how to act like a lady, but can also be fun and spontaneous.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working on bettering myself. If you want to change the world, start within!

I really enjoy karaoke. I know all the best hiking trails in northern Colorado; and the best restaurants to go to after hiking. I love meeting new people.
I’m really good at
I have 10 years of experience in Distributed Energy: solar, batteries, EVs, IoT, smart grid. I could talk ad nauseam about the subject if you get me started. This stuff is the future, folks!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I honestly haven't read any books recently. I'm looking for good books about knights (more about that below). The books I've really liked in the past are "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by Bach, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Pirsig, "The Little Prince" by de Saint Exuperie, and "Ideas and Opinions" by Einstein.

I've been watching a lot of stand-up comedy on Netflix lately. My favorite comedians are Kevin Hart, Bo Burnham, Iliza, and Jim Jefferies. Oh, the new Ghostbusters movie is hilarious: all those ladies get an honorable mention on my favorite comedians list, but especially Kristen Wiig, cause she has that random, goofy sense of humor that is so endearing :)

Here's the music I've been into lately: cage the elephant, the black keys, the white stripes, beck, x-ambassadors, led zeppelin, anything rockabilly. My son really likes 21 pilots so we listen to them too...I also downloaded a bunch of grunge music recently because it reminds me of high school. Ping me if you want to chat about music or recommend a good band.

I'm on the pseudo paleo diet (I say pseudo because I'm not a puritan about it.) I try to include other things than solely organic, non-processed, meat and veggies -- cause really -- who can live like that? I just try to minimize starches, dairy, and sugars. No, I haven't given up alcohol!
The six things I could never do without
1. My son, Collin (8)
2. The Internet
3. Freedom (true freedom, not the kind politicians talk about)
4. Rock'n'roll
5. Optimism
6. Affection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm teaching my son what it means to be a man. I'm starting with the basics: knighthood, valor, paladins, the code of chivalry (and why it's dead).

I think it's symbolic that the knight is the only player on the chessboard that is nonlinear, which I interpret to mean the knight breaks a few rules on his quest for glory.

The knight in shining armor has always been a rebel..
On a typical Friday night I am
