My self-summary
I just took this quiz on to find out what movie character I am most like. My answer? Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean - LOL! I'm going to take that as a compliment.

Obviously, I'm a lot more clean-cut than the Captain of the Black Pearl, but here's a few ways we are similar:
1. I'm an adventurer at heart. I've traveled all over the west -- from Nome, Alaska to Cabo, Baja -- and love my home here in the Rockies.
2. As my name implies, my zodiac sign is Leo, which astrologers say means I'm confident. That's a very important quality for any captain.
3. I'm a bit of a rebel. I've never had a run-in with the Royal British Navy, but they don't seem so tough. They wore powdered wigs.
4. Somehow, I've always come out of any situation with a smile on my face. Savvy?
What I’m doing with my life
I'm planning my next vacation to San Diego in a few months. I like to go there and jump in the ocean. It's so relaxing to walk on the hot sand and look at the critters in warm tide pools. Maybe I'll channel my inner Jack Sparrow and charter a boat for the day? Oh, and San Diego has amazing fish tacos! I think I'll have one with a Pacifico beer. Writing about this is getting me excited!
I’m really good at
I have a ten year career managing Distributed Energy projects. I like to work with innovative technologies like solar and electric cars. This stuff is the future, folks!

When I'm not working, I like to go camping, snow tubing, mountain biking, fishing, watching my son play Little League Baseball, laughing at goofy movies, eating breakfast someplace fancy.
Six things I could never do without
1. My son, Collin (9)
2. Outdoor activities
3. Freedom (true freedom, not the kind politicians talk about)
4. Rock'n'roll
5. Optimism
6. Affection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm working on bettering myself. If you want to change the world, start within!

I'm also teaching my son what it means to be a man. I'm starting with the basics: knighthood, valor, paladins, the code of chivalry (and why it's dead).
