My self-summary
Hi! Moving to Atlanta suddenly for a new job. The remainder of my profile is outdated lies -- I'll update it later after I figure out where food is. In the meantime, I wish to be continually distracted by strangers; so please say words to me, whoever you are.
What I’m doing with my life
I used to do conservation work; currently finishing up school (last semester!) for biosystems engineering so I can return to doing work related to natural resources in a less menial fashion.

I work in a biosafety quarantine lab most of the time, and do fieldwork and greenhouse work the rest.
I’m really good at
Cooking from scratch.
Moving large rocks; related skill: writing resumes that parlay my rock moving experience into marketable job skills. (quote during interview on the importance of teamwork: "...because some rocks are just too big to move by yourself" Ha. Didn't get that job.)
sleeping in cars, trains, buses, planes.
biking/walking/hiking for long lengths of time.
The first things people usually notice about me
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
G.K. Chesterton, Haruki Murakami, David Sedaris, Hunter S Thompson, James Baldwin, Dostoevsky, F. Scott Fitzgerald.

kate beaton comics.

30 rock, the simpsons, futurama, arrested development, adventure time, cosmos, archer, and parks and rec.

The best music is music made with friends, but here are some bands who I wish were my friends/not dead from heroin overdoses: Queen, Broken Social scene (and feist (and stars)), Devil makes three, bad religion, Ani difranco, thin lizzy, modest mouse, iron maiden, death, megadeth, red knife lottery, nick drake, charles mingus, nomeansno, thought industry, ornette coleman, sigur ros, neko case, neutral milk hotel, the replacements, talking heads, gogol bordello.

I love southeast Asian and Indian food. I also have a deep and abiding love of noodles. I don't care if you aren't vegan; I do care if you would like to make and eat pie with me.
The six things I could never do without
1. Brain in a vat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Did I lose my keys?
No, they're there. Thank goodness.
and society!
Everything else.
Did I lose my keys?
No, they're still there. Fantastic.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't whistle despite earnestly trying to learn several times; I know what shame sounds like.
You should message me if
You want a friend type person who likes doing new thing and is named Joe. Either-or, really.
Bike rides!
Millionaire hovercraft owner. Sorry if that is shallow, but not really.
You like to cook or grow food with people.
You consider me people.
Reverse psychology. what?
Bike rides!
You kind of want to, but just don't feel like it. We could talk that and other things we are ambivalent about. That might or might not be nice.
You have other reasons which are supernatural in origin.
If you are a spambot. I'm pragmatic, you see.
