My self-summary
I love singing, football, musical theatre, and politics. I believe in the power of compassion to change the world. I'm an extrovert and love being around people. Other joys in my life are Buddhism, pugs, cuddling, and making everything into puns. Thoughtful, musically inclined, feminist, progressive.

Finishing up as a grad student at Oregon State University in Public Policy!

What I’m doing with my life
School + work are the main focus at the moment!

In my free time I play volleyball, sing in choirs, write music, drink beer, read, spend as much time as I can with my friends, and run.

I'm in the process of trying to get a little bit better every day at being kinder and more aware of the world around me.
I’m really good at
Listening, laughing, smiling, singing, politicking, dreaming, and making bad jokes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite book of all time is The Brothers K by David James Duncan. A short list of others: Y the Last Man, Candy Freak, The Phantom Tollbooth, The River Why, anything by David Sedaris, books about practical Buddhism, anything involving political philosophy.

Screen things: Thank You For Smoking; Burn After Reading; Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring; The League; GoT; House of Cards; documentaries.

A few of the artists I enjoy are Ben Folds, Kanye West, Nickel Creek, Sufjan Stevens, Jason Mraz, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Pentatonix, Au Revoir Simone, Frank Sinatra, Bon Iver, Ed Sheeran, Frank Ocean, Florence + the Machine, John Legend, City and Colour, and The Weepies.

Musicals: The Last 5 Years, Hamilton, West Side Story, Les Miserables, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Avenue Q, Spamalot, My Fair Lady, Rent...I really love musicals, the list could go on.

Acoustic guitars and high harmonies make my heart melt.
Six things I could never do without
Making music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think a lot about the world/trying to solve its problems, politics, music, and football. I enjoy meditation in those moments where I'd like to quiet my mind down (although that's always easier said than done!).
On a typical Friday night I am
Is there a typical Friday night? I do like to go out, but it's about a 50/50 split between doing things with friends and having a more relaxing night at home after a long week.
You should message me if
Music moves you.
Puns are totally your thing.
You feel like you connect to anything I've written here and that we might have a good conversation.
