My self-summary
Note: I just moved up from Philly to the Boston area. This profile needs updating, but it has been crazy busy settling in...

A few highlights of major events since college (you can get to know my intellectual, funny, open-minded, and "high-energy" personality when we hang out- actions speak louder than words):
I came down to Philadelphia from Boston about a year ago. Used to be in a Neurosurgery lab at Harvard studying Huntingtons Disease, but the boss man left to take over the department at UPMC (and forsook my Patriots to go take care of the Rapist... Lame!). Figured I could use a change of scenery, but had no intention of moving out to Pittsburgh. Instead, I came to the other side of PA to take some classes at Penn and involve myself in some Clinical Research, now at CHOP improving concussion treatments for kids... I am also very sarcastic. Henceforth, please take the remainder of this profile with a grain of salt, but hopefully it will make you smile. ;-P
What I’m doing with my life
Pediatric and adolescent neurophysiatry (helping kids rehabilitate following a traumatic brain injury)... Well that's the end game anyway. For now, I just kick bullies in the shins, hunt African warlords through the jungle, rescue damsels in distress, and generally turn the day on with my smile!
I’m really good at
Everything... I'm like Superman, Donald Draper, and Moses all rolled up into one, then kissed by the Creator!
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm awesome- duh!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Cat's Cradle (and pretty much anything written by Kurt Vonnegut), Be Here Now, The Alchemist, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior...

Movies: Shottas, Rockers, Wonderland, Scarface, The Usual Suspects, LA Confidential, Rounders, Resevoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Inside Man, The Wolf On Wall Street, Transsiberian, Out of the Furnace, Thank You For Smoking, Igby Goes Down, Chasing Amy, Anchorman, The City of God, Pan's Labyrinth, Les Miserables (I've saw the musical like 3 times over the course of my childhood on- and off-Broadway, the movie just brings me back I guess)...

Shows: Breaking Bad, Californication, Entourage, Mad Men, Modern Family, Nip/Tuck, South Park (still), The League, New Girl (embarrassing) and The Newsroom. I hate the TMZ-like nature of the talking heads on ESPN or the cable news stations, but sometimes it's just gotta happen.

Music: My tastes are pretty diverse, but at the risk of sounding like an old man I'm having a tough time buying into most of the new age pop and top 40 radio plays, as well as country music. I dig bluegrass (Doc Watson, Sam Bush and more modern stuff like Greensky Bluegrass, Railroad Earth), funk/soul (Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers and more modern stuff like Karl Denson, The Motets), Classic Rock (The Rolling Stones, The Beatles), 90's Alternative (OLD SCHOOL Offspring, Silverchair), epic singers (Erykah Badu, Norah Jones), CONSCIOUS Reggae (both dancehall and roots...I say "conscious" because it's not about the mellow bass lines or about the weed-smoking culture, but more about the message of equal rights and justice, upliftment of the downtrodden, etc), the occasional 80's rock band (The Talking Heads, The Velvet Underground), 90's rap (Tupac, and you know who I really miss? Ma$e. That dude was the shit!) and I have a NON-STEREOTYPICAL obsession with Phish (Don't judge me! There's quite the back-story to this, but I am prone to planning my vacation around this band).

Food: Ital is Vital.
The six things I could never do without
Music, PubMed, friends, family, pixie dust and fairy tales.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The meaning of it all... And where the heck the idea for a lollipop came from. Seriously, who thought up the idea of liquifying and flavoring sugar, then hardening it around a stick? Did he or she die from diabetes or what?
On a typical Friday night I am
Sewing seed and chaffing wheat. Or just lynching dirty hippies. Whichever.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Nothing. By definition it's private, as in not to be admitted on an online profile, right? Why you gotta be all up in my business like that already anyways? Sheesh! Nosy people... ;-P
You should message me if
You don't suck.

No, seriously, I'm looking to meet women that I could potentially have a future with... Not so much the passing hookup or dinner/drinks for the sake of dinner/drinks. If you generally get the sarcasm laced throughout this profile, you can jive with my ethereal but scientific nature, and you can respect my adoration of live music, I would love to hear from you!

I'm the kind of guy who is all about mutual respect for what makes a person who they are. I don't really care if you are a fellow academic or medical professional, and I also don't care if you highly resent Phish. That is not what I am looking for in a partner. Honesty, loyalty, and affection are.
