My self-summary
On one leg: Grounded, naturally happy, kind, reliable, athletic, intelligent, sharp witted, and cares deeply about the people and animals in my life.

I'm Jewish and "spiritually curious" and genuinely open minded--and a healthy skeptic. Love playing guitar with and for people. I've been told that I have the ability to make people feel at ease. I have a passion for life and tasting its depth. Relationships, people, travel, friendship, food, nature, literature, learning, music, art, knowledge, and wisdom are what I live for.

As of 2017, I've returned to my hometown of LA and rethinking various priorities. I don't have the patience to go through and change answers to the myriad of questions, but suffice to say that I'm waking to the possibility that having my own children is not what's in the cards, so I'm broadening my horizons. If we make a connection and you have children, that could even be a plus.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to give a lift to the world around me (and not sounding too pompous whilst doing it).
I’m really good at
Listening. Conversing. Imagining. Grilling. Cooking. Laughing at myself. Playing Bim-Bam and Blackbird. Other stuff too.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, or so I'm told. Then it's my dog. I'm a rabbi, play guitar, am very easy to be with and am anything but a stereotype. I take people by surprise.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Gevalt... Let's share this over a glass of wine. It could take a while.

For starters:
BB King to Stevie Ray; Michael Jackson (all iterations) to Stevie Wonder. Led Zeppelin to Rush to James Taylor to Band of Horses to the Dead to Mike Stern to Van Halen to Genesis to Santana to...

Books: Kavalier & Clay to Wheel of Time. Mostly non-fiction these days. Most often recommended: Being Wrong; In Praise of Doubt; The Soul of Money; Failure of Nerve; the Progress Paradox.

Movies: Godfather to Star Wars; X-men to Being John Malcovich. Scarface to Sideways.
Six things I could never do without
My friendships and relationships
My guitar(s) ;)
My identity
My questions
My hope
My passion for life and exploration
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What people mean by "spirituality."
Marveling with wonder at how this all works.
The people (and animals) in my life.
How lucky I am, and how blessed a thing it is to make music.
On a typical Friday night I am
Enjoying an awesome Shabbat dinner with great friends and selecting great wine to go with it...
You should message me if
You are intrinsically kind. A healthy and balanced personality with a sparkle in your eye, creativity in your spirit, and deeply committed to something important in your life. Class and character are huge. Ideally, Judaism informs some part of your life. You take care of yourself. I don't think I have much of a "type" anymore, but I tend to be drawn to slender women with long hair. An "Ezer-K'negdo."
