My self-summary
Part of who I am can be attributed to the family I grew up in. There were ten of us kids, six boys/four girls, of which I am number 7. We have been a close family and have always helped each other out when we could. (A humorous side note...I saw this sign on an old school bus which had been converted into a motorised camper, "I would like to help you out...which way did you come in?") I have a deep faith in God and know that without Him we are nothing. I love truth even when it puts me at odds with some of the worlds beloved traditions. I do try to honor God by doing the things He has instructed us to do. I have been amazed at how difficult it is to find a truly great relationship that will last the rest of our lives: Not giving up hope though. :-) I know you are out there, just waiting for me to discover you.

I have found it is necessary to explain a little more about my faith in God here. We all have freedom of choice when it comes to religion and faith in God. There are some churches that place more credence in following the man at the top of the organization or the organization itself. This would include the idea that any particular man is infallible. Though I do believe that there are many "good" people in all church's, I believe that truth is also important...not just love, faith, and good works. I do have some issues with some teaching of the catholic church. Some of these teachings were carried over into the protestant churches though they aren't necessarily issues of salvation I still think they are important. Regardless of what one thinks of issues like whether you go to heaven or hell after death, or whether you celebrate Christmas and Easter isn't nearly as important as having Godly love for others. Nevertheless, if the bible teaches one thing regarding these things and the world teaches another, I choose to follow the scripture rather than the world when it comes to these kinds of traditions. I realize that I am in a very, very small minority on these kinds of issues but I have to go with truth rather than tradition regarding them. Truth can be discovered with a little research and a willingness to accept it with a child like attitude when God allows His light to shine through the darkness of this worlds traditions and expose those things masquerading as truth for what they really are: myths, fables, fairy tails and the like. Seeing as how I place such great importance on truth makes it an extraordinarily difficult task in finding someone who also greatly values truth to make a connection with. But no matter how difficult it may be, there is someone out there that would make a great match for me and me for her. God willing of course. Blessings to all who not only love God but who also love His truth.
What I’m doing with my life
Still learning new are never too old to learn. Searching for a compatible lifelong companion. Still helping construct new buildings (mostly commercial) as a brick mason. Fixing up my home. Spending a lot of time reading profiles on here and seeing how you answered the's all very interesting and eye opening. :-)
I’m really good at
Any kind of construction work. Fixing things that have broken. Helping others feel relaxed and comfortable. Being empathetic and compassionate towards those who have struggled in life. Seeing the good side of people. Don't let the dark side get the best of you. :-)
The first things people usually notice about me
That I am not the life of the party but am one of the nicest people they've met. Those I work with have said that I look like a professor when they saw me with reading glasses on. Do looks really count? :-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like a wide variety of music but not the loud raucous type. Music that causes a person feel good or uplifted is always going to be a favorite type. Favorite type movies are action/adventure; "The Italian Job" would be one in that category. Drama, romance, comedy and others as well. I suppose good old country cooking is a favorite type food.
Six things I could never do without
The foremost need in my life is a relationship with God. Without Him, life would seem meaningless. Loving relationships. Stimulating conversation. Adventure--everyone needs a little excitement in life don't you think? A satisfying job that imparts a sense of accomplishment. Perhaps you! :-)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Wondering why so many people seem to lack real moral values in our modern society. The needs of so many for hope and meaning in their lives.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually at home: sometimes watching a Netflix movie or show or listening to music on Pandora radio. Searching for matches and reading profiles on the dating site.
You should message me if
Recently developed a relationship that I am pursuing, so I'm not interested in anyone else currently.

You love God and are willing to allow your partner to worship God in the way He thinks important. I will not impose my beliefs on you because, how we choose to honor God is a very personal thing. Next would be, if you love doing outdoor things like long walks, hiking, some sports (like tennis or golf), or fishing and the like. If you like sharing a fun or interesting movie together; that would be great also. There are so many things that one could put here, but seriously, if you just want to learn more about me, because I know this is merely a very basic bit of information, then you will need to ask some probing questions to get to know the more intrinsic me.
So, don't be scared, ask away to your little hearts content: I have nothing to hide.
