My self-summary
I try to be a fun loving carefree person. I succeed about half the
time, so that's not too bad right? I kinda shift between that and
serious, but the bright side is with a little coaxing I'm usually
up for anything. I guess sometimes it can be a little hard to crack
my shell, but once you're in, I can be pretty good company if I do
say so myself.

And having actually decided to use that as my summary, I guess I
can add "occasionally a giant dork" in here.
What I’m doing with my life
I just finished up a Master's in history and hope to get my PhD, but at the moment I'm getting things together for the purpose of that pursuit. Mostly thats just getting myself okay from a financial perspective while trying to maintain my connection to the academic world for the sake my my sanity.

Ultimately I'd like to be a professor. I'd like to profess...

I wouldn't mind being a novelist on the side though.

Or maybe dropping everything to open a bar on some beach somewhere with a writing room in the attic.

Unless its up north. Then it would be a bakery with a writing room attic.

I’m really good at
I'm pretty good at reading people. So long as its not really important for me to read that person, since I can get in the way of my own instincts.

I'm told I'm also a pretty good writer and listener.

I've also been told I'm a pretty good personal film critic. I just have a vibe for what people's tastes are for movies. Your own personal Netflix.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't really know. I guess a lot of people have told me I'm pretty funny.

I think I've gotten mentions of my eyes in the past.

I've not really asked. It seems kinda narcissistic. (which I would never be.... Publicly anyway lol)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh man. This could literally go on for pages.

Tv I love modern family, old family guy, the occasional south park. Weeds, shameless, outnumbers.

Music, love 60s and 70s rock. In particular the Animals, Stones, Doors, Velvet Underground, the Beach Boys etc.

I also like movie music and classical, eg Tchaikovsky.

I'm a huge fan of musicals as well, such as Les Mis, Evita etc.

I also like modern indie rock like spoon and the cold war kids. I love the gorillaz.

I'm getting into dub step and I love techno like daft punk.

I guess I'm versatile, kind of like I am with movies.

In movies I've basically loved star wars since I was an infant. There are the obvious ones like lord of the rings, Jurassic park, back to the future, the godfather.

I'm a fan of Pixar as well as old style 60s Disney animation.

I'm kind of a nerd so I'm a sucker for good sci fi, like moon, alien, 2001, etc.

I also love a lot of great pretentiousy movies, in particular lots of things by Francois Truffaut, 400 Blows and The Last Metro especially) or things like Yojimbo.

I have a huge fondness for some quirky movies like Scott Pilgrim and Lucky Number Slevin.

I also love the James bond films. Also musicals. Especially Evita when it comes to film versions of musicals. I'm basically just an all around huge cinephile.

Speaking of James Bond, I really enjoy the written work of Ian Flemming. I also love Cormac McCarthy. I've just begun to grow a fondness for Albert Camus. I'm trying to learn to love Fitzgerald, but I'm having trouble with it, I always have for some reason. Same with Kerouac. I like them, I just don't love them.

I do love William Burroughs though. I try and read pretty diversely. I think my favorite books are probably The Count Of Monte Cristo, Candide, The Grapes Of Wrath, The Road and definitely Angelas Ashes.

I almost forgot to mention Frank McCourt! And his brother Malachy. I love memoirs. As a nerd, i also love to read the Nerd rule book mandatory incredibly nerdy and embarrassing sci-fi franchise book, like a Star Wars book or some such thing.

See, I'm being honest. Just here at the bottom of this super long essay.

I guess I'll add more to this as time goes on.
Six things I could never do without
Cother people to keep me company
Ketchup probably
Being able to create things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Nostalgic things. Almost anything makes me reminiscent and I'll start telling old-man-ensue stories of past things.

I also just like to think about life in general in that generically deep way. The big debate between the meaning of things and the mysteries of why we are and such other fluff.
On a typical Friday night I am
At the movies, going to a bar with some friends, or just hanging at a friends place.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I mean, it's the Internet. I dunno what to admit.
You should message me if
You can ignore the way my grammer, spelling and style have slowly degraded as you've read down this profile. Also, really consider messaging me if you can appreciate the laziness of the fact that I still haven't fixed it and have used this space to just patch it over.
