i suppose i like to question authority, even the authority of a little white box on the world wide etherwebs.
I am a passionate creative guy, with many varied interests. I truly enjoy games, books, movies, music, hell most forms of entertainment really.
I am passionate, intelligent, and absurdist
Which is to say: I take pictures. And video. And the occasional roll of 16mm. I work full time doing video production and I work as a freelance photographer on weekends. And then there are short films, music videos and all sorts of fun times.
I love my field, and can hardly believe that people actually pay me to do things that I do for fun.
Lately i've been working more and more often as a cinematographer/director of photography, and i love the work. So much more thinking then normal. I never knew that mental labor could wear me out more then physical.
I'm pretty good at making computers work, although I am by no means an expert. I know more then most about cameras, but there is oh so much to learn.
Also: snowboarding! I love snow sports, been skiing since I was 7 years old, boarding for about 14 years now, and have had some wonderful adventures in the mountains. So far I've ridden in 6 states, but I will eventually hit every one with mountains. I'm also quite good at relaxing. Putting on a pot of tea, curling up with a good book, and letting the hours melt away.
movies- anything that makes me think. fight club, pi, dr. strangelove, SLC Punk, everything is illuminated, Sunshine, the usual suspects, the big lebowski (really any cohen brothers), etc etc
music- damn near anything. jazz, rock, indy, punk, blues, with a dash of hip hop, metal, country/folk and classical thrown in there for color.
composition. rule of 1/3's. negative space. form and flow. Recently i've been thinking about eye lines and jawlines in portraiture.
