My self-summary
I am a relatively new to the Madison area but have been enjoying the music festivals, local pubs, great food, and artistic opportunities the city has to offer. I am a very straightforward person and appreciate the same in others. My friends have all have their own brand of weird quirkiness but that is what I love about them... they are all genuine! Essentially I am looking for the same in a partner. Someone who knows themselves and is proud of what they have become as a person and also someone who will allow me to be myself as I am proud of the person I have worked so hard to become. (Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but I like to think I can work to be Mary Poppins someday :)

Although I am not completely fearless in trying new things eventually my curiosity overcomes my sense of potential embarrassment. My mind is usually going a mile a minute and I enjoy contemplating complex things even if there is not really a point... yet I am extremely practical, admiring ingenuity and efficiency. I have been told I on many occasions that I am a very smart person but I am also amongst the silliest in my group of friends. I am very laid back but am extremely passionate about the things I do... someone who does kind things for me and those I care about remain loyal friends for many, many years.

If you are active, smart, adventurous, funny, and grounded we will likely get along. I appreciate someone who knows about practical things such as fixing a plugged sink, cooking, figuring out why a small engine is not starting, or building something from scratch. I also enjoy a good philosophical argument. I would like to meet someone who knows themselves well enough to know what they want from a serious relationship, is upfront, and enjoys spending time together even if it is doing everyday things.

Things I like to do: hike, camp, kayak, canoe, bike, knit, crochet, sew, ballroom & latin dance, contra dance, belly dance, African dance, freestyle dance, sail, read, go to live music, swim, go to the beach, paint, printmaking, cook, bake, eat good food, beer tasting, wine tasting, cheese tasting, theater, play guitar, travel, try new food dishes, play softball, play volleyball, walk my dog, play sheepshead, play chess and other strategy board games, entertain friends, and other stuff that I can't think of right now.

Additional Note that I wish was unneccesary...
Please do not send me lewd sexual messages... It is not something I am interested in particpating. Thank you.
