My self-summary
Hello there. I've been out of the dating scene for a couple years because work has kept me busy but I'm ready to change that. I like being out and about with my friends and hanging out, but I'm a fan of movies and games as well. My goals are somewhat humble but still takes hard work to achieve... I'd like to move up in the company I work for and be the point man there. I like all different kinds of music but my tastes are more slanted towards rock, alternative, and metal. I don't follow too many bands slavishly but I know what I like to listen to. Even though I'm not a huge fan of hip-hop or country, there's always some music in those genres that exceed my expectations and are enjoyable to listen to.

I like to think I'm a funny guy that people like to be around. I'm a good listener and I'm concerned about other people. It takes me some time to warm up to people but I'm a loyal person. Even though religion isn't a huge part of my life, I was raised in a Catholic family and my upbringing instilled positive morals that I live by.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm trying to get ahead at work, as usual. I'm also trying to branch out and try different activities during my off hours... taking up jogging again and getting back into fishing, eating healthier along with the usual stuff (keeping up with my growing backlog of movies, books, and games).
I’m really good at
listening to people and trying to solve problems with them. Or just while away the time with conversation. I'm interested in people's lives and what they're thinking about.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty quiet when people first meet me, so it's hard to get to know me. But I like to think that people first notice that I'm interested in meeting them and finding out what makes them tick, so you can expect an active conversational interest from me. As I warm up to them, people have said that I'm funny (albeit maybe a little too dry at times).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh man, too many to count. Hmmm, books are something I'm looking to expand my horizons on, but I've always been a big Stephen King fan, with The Dark Tower series being my favorite of his.

As I stated above, I'm into all kinds of music, with rock, alternative, folk, and metal being the front runners. Current favorites for music is The Black Keys, The Postal Service, Flogging Molly, k-os, The Bags, and The Decemberists. So yeah, kind of all over the place.

I'll try just about any kind of food also. I'm not a picky eater. I have been paying more attention to what I eat lately and expanding my horizons on healthier food though, which has been a surprisingly satisfying journey so far.

Movies are something I can can be a little more explicit about. Again, I watch all kinds of movies and am willing to watch just about anything. Variety is the spice of life. My favorites are: The Good The Bad & The Ugly, The Original Star Wars Trilogy, A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, High Plains Drifter, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Terminator, The Iron Giant, The Shawshank Redemption, The Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Wall-E, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Up, Blade Runner, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, The Mummy, Spider-man 2, Sweeney Todd (Tim Burton's), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Iron Man, Tommy Boy, Happy Gilmore, Vampire Hunter D, Payback (w/ Mel Gibson), Ong Bak, The Dark Knight, Alien, Aliens, The Avengers. That's off the top of my head anyway.
Six things I could never do without
The internet, for one. God damn I love the internet. I would also say my cell phone, so I can talk to family and friends. I'm a big tech junkie, so yeah my computer, my TV, my Xbox. I would say my car for the last one. I definitely like to be able to get around where I want, when I want.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I want to get out of life, for myself, my family AND my friends. Life lessons imparted to me by my grandfather. Ways to keep in touch with faraway family members and friends.
On a typical Friday night I am
usually calling friends ahead of time to plan on getting together and unwind after the work week. Unless I have to work on Saturday. In which case I'm hanging out with my friends and grumbling about working the next day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
There's not a whole lot that I keep under wraps. I'm a pretty easy-going guy.
You should message me if
you're interested in going out and having a good time and see what develops from there!
