My self-summary
Well, I'm a happily married man in an awesome polyamorous marriage with Toni134, I have been with inroom29 for about a year and a half, and I'm looking for someone to spend quality time with, laugh my ass off with and establish whatever relationship type that comes naturally to us.

I'm a combination geek/jock who loves to travel. I watch sci-fi shows and movies...and read comics...and play video games...and obsess over sports statistics...and shutdown Sundays exclusively for football...and run in a dozen distance races a year...and occasionally, I even lift (,bro).

I'm almost always planning my next out-of-town escape...usually scheduled around an on-location half-marathon or something.
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally, I'm an instructional designer. Simply put, I create materials that people learn stuff from. Manuals, guides, online training, etc. It's a great job and I work hard at improving myself in my field.

Personally, I'm trying to maximize the "going places and doing things" aspect of my life. I don't want to be on my deathbed wondering what (something potentially life-changing) is all about. Whenever possible, I drag my friends along for the ride.

As a hobby, I've been curating an interview series that highlights the diversity of polyamorous people called Poly Role Models. Come check it out: http://polyrolemodels.tumblr.com
I’m really good at
...ignoring the small stuff...and it's ALL small stuff. If it's not pushing me forward, I leave it behind.

...motivating people to rethink their priorities and options. I don't mean to be good at that. I'm not starting a revolution or anything. As spiritual activist, Marianne Williamson, says "...as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same." My life over the last few years has been all about letting my light shine...and many of my friends and family have followed suit.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall...that's pretty easy to spot.

I've been described as "painfully uncomplicated". What you see is what you get.

Apparently, my ass is pretty decent...but I really have no reference or desire to make an informed comparison.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I mostly read non-fiction books about non-monogamy, polyamory, personal development and modern autobiographies. Although, I also really enjoy some fiction... Ready Player One, A Song of Ice and Fire and the Harry Potter books.

I watch pretty much everything except most horror and the sappiest of romantic comedies. Everything else is fair game...good, bad, foreign, documentaries, everything. My favorites are Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, High Fidelity, Clerks, Children of Men, Kingdom of Heaven, The Lion King, American Beauty, Shawshank Redemption...and all things Disney/Marvel/Star Wars.

My taste in music are really eclectic. The Roots, Stevie Wonder, Fiona Apple, The Pixies, Jamiroquai, Nas and a little bit of everything in between. I'm always looking for songs to workout and run to, so I buy lots of albums just to get that one song that'll push me at the finish line. Have any suggestions for me?

I'll sit down in front of Netflix and marathon through seasons of shows I've heard are good. (Sense8, House of Cards, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Archer, Orange is the New Black, Breaking Bad, Avatar). I've fallen in love with Steven Universe and The Wire. I just started binging Orphan Black...and Tatyana Maslany is ridiculous!

My video game collection is pretty varied. I'm into sports games, puzzle/strategy, third-person shooters and action games, but my real love is being able to sink 100+ hours into any RPG with a complex story and quality character development. Which is to say, I love Bioware games.

A lot of my media intake these days comes in podcast form. I regularly listen to Savage Lovecast (Dan Savage), Life on the Swingset, Girl on Guy (Aisha Tyler), The Moth, Grantland/ESPN, Podcast Beyond, IGN Gamescoop and Dave Ramsey.
The six things I could never do without
- My family
- My friends (which is a cop out because I consider my friends to be my "chosen" family)
- The internet and the devices that bring me to there
- My Playstation 4
- My current pair of running shoes
- My drive to do and see everything.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...how to customize the world around me and live life on my own terms while still being a quality husband and father.

...the politics of equality and sex-positivity, and how racism, homophobia and misogyny are all basically the same bullshit.

...the terms "Intersectionality" and "Relationship Anarchy!"

...the varying definitions of feminism and whether or not I land within them. As long as I'm aware of and fighting against privilege and oppression, should the label even matter, though?
On a typical Friday night I am
...having a drink and maybe a smoke and laughing my ass off watching some terrible movie. On the best Fridays, I'm doing that with interesting people who chime in with funny commentary.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
...I'm terrible with names and faces. I once met a woman, asked her out and then didn't recognize her when she bumped into me the very next day. Luckily, I made a graceful recovery, pulled off a great first date, and went on to marry her. She still holds it against me, though.

...if it were somehow possible, I'd replace the uneventful parts of my early-20s with episodes of Regular Show.
You should message me if
- You've got a sense of humor, a sense of adventure and a general disregard for the rules.

- You can appreciate masterful film-making and would like to analyze such a work of art with me.

- You can appreciate truly shitty movies and would like to laugh your ass off while watching one with me.
