I'm a huge sports fan - especially the Sharks and 49ers. Also soccer & Stanford volleyball. I pretty much enjoy everything outdoors and try to spend as much of my free time there. I respond well to natural light and need a regular dose of vitamin D in my life. My house usually has at least a few windows and doors open to let the breeze through. I could live quite happily in a teeny house with a lot of outdoor space. I love living in Mountain View, and as long as my 4x4 truck gets some regular action in the mountains, I'm content being mostly a city girl. (The rest of the time I drive a more eco-friendly vehicle or my bike around town.)
I'm a team player. I like to do things with people - and I'm looking for someone who is adventurous, at least a little spontaneous, and loves life!!! My family is important to me and I see them often. We collect rocks together (yeah, a little science nerd lives inside me), I play music with my dad, and we enjoy cocktail hours together.
I like to socialize and go out several nights a week, usually to play pool or have a few drinks with friends. I also really like to cuddle up on the couch with someone special and watch movies, listen to music, play my guitar, or just engage in some witty banter. I appreciate a clever man who can keep me challenged and on my toes.
I am disappointed in myself for beginning so many sentences with I. This is a horrible display of sentence fluency.
BTW, on the rocks doesn't mean I've hit low times! (Two people now have asked me about this so I figured I'd better clarify as to not scare anyone off!) It's a "name" I've used for many years because I'm a geologist by schooling and prefer my liquor on ice with no mixers. I also think it's a badass name if I'm ever in a band. Just sayin.... :-)
Personally, I have a lot of hobbies and like to have a good time. I play music (sing, guitar, flute). I am a geologist and make jewelry out of rocks. I like to kick a ball around with friends and watch a lot of sports. I'm a camper and have lots of fun toys (inflatable bar, hand-operated blender, & kayaks to name a few!).
I'm looking for a teammate, and I'm not sure I'll find him online, but I'm giving it a shot. The men I meet out at bars often leave a little to be desired. No, I wouldn't say I'm that picky, I just think telling me about your nether regions could wait for at least a second meeting! I'm no prude and enjoy regular intimacy for sure, but that's really not the way to pique my interest off the bat. I want to know we're compatible in other ways first!
I also make mean cocktails and like to entertain. I'm a proud Bartender School graduate. : )
Finally, I'm really good at my job and proud of that. I work really hard, but balance is important to me and I make sure I play just as hard - if not harder!
Music: way too eclectic to say, but just about everything - something at least from every genre. I prefer to play & sing more mellow music, but that's likely because of my limited guitar skills. :-) BTW, if you play and sing and are looking for a music buddy, message me! My "specialty" is harmony vocals and I'd love to find someone local to play with at open mic events.
Food: I'm pretty much a carnivore & do most of my shopping at farmer's market or Trader Joe's. I like to try new things, but am somewhat of a creature of habit. I'd love to meet someone to cook WITH as that can be lots of fun. I love to wash dishes by hand. I find it therapeutic in a weird way.
Movies: way too many, but a couple that I saw recently that surprised me were Kung Fu Hustle, Thank You For Smoking, The Avengers, The Power of One, and Chasing Amy. Also really enjoyed Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers this summer.

In all seriousness....I think a lot about the past year. I've put myself through several major transitions (most important for you to know is that I am divorced) and I'm really proud that I made the changes in my life I wanted to make even though they weren't easy and/or popular. I have a hard time with people who complain and are complacent in their discontent. Do something about it! I'm glad I did! You can't put a price on happiness. :-)
