My self-summary
I like making the most of any situation. Eating salad for breakfast. Shopping at a healthy grocery store like it's my first time. Professionally ambitious. Being outdoors. Seeing critters. Getting confused at navigating in someplace I've never been. Throwing dinner parties. Listening to friends and telling them what not to do from personal experience. Confiscating the dance floor.

My California roots help me dream big as if I'm in my own 80s movie. I've traded in swagger for a spiritual practice of meditation, patience and gratitude.
What I’m doing with my life
My first computer interaction as a kid I thought, "Wow, that's pretty neat!" Now I'm a high-tech professional passionate about learning, creating new experiences and helping others.

I'm a SF native and moved back last year after a decade in New York City, which I loved, and am soaking up the outdoors and seemingly limitless adventure opportunities.

I love riding my bike all over especially as a means for trasportation and at night in Golden Gate Park looking for coyotes.

I travel a lot for work and fun. Next I'd love to go to Patagonia, India, or Vietnam. I'm comfortable camping, walking the Champs-Élysées, volunteering with homeless and at a black-tie gala. I am always up for a snowboarding trip, weekend getaway, biking anywhere, and walking from point A to B especially if it's somewhere I've never been.
I’m really good at
Hiking and being outdoors and making a plan to do it. Getting vertigo at the top of double-black diamond snowboarding runs and freaking out. Making cookies. Making crow noises. Chatting. Being functional. Getting option paralysis. Saying yes. Connecting. Embodying an all-time favorite character and channeling what they would do in the present situation. Remaining calm and level headed with most situations, except with cookies.
The first things people usually notice about me
Positive and healthy energy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Now reading Rebel Yell, The Diet Cure, The Soul Whence and Whither by Hazrat Inayat Khan and the Economist magazine. My all time favs are High Fidelity, Generation X, The Brothers K, Das Kapital, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Huck Finn, Neuromancer, Ham on Rye, The Fountainhead, and tons more...

Rogue One, every minute. Mad Max blew me away, and Metal Head was amazing. I typically will go see any indy flick over hollywood. My all time favorites are Le Femme Nikita (French Version), My Own Private Idaho, Blade Runner, Superbad, Napoleon Dynamite, Just Friends, The Lives of Others...lots more...love movies!

How awesome are Spotify and Pandora? Right now am into Cut Copy, Grimes, Animal Collective, Of Montreal, Discovery, The Fruitbats, Santigold, LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, Crystal Castles. Plus the classics Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pixies, Morrissey (love seeing Moz in convert), Alt 80s, Joy Division, Erasure, New Order, NWA, Too Short, gansta rap, watching alt 80s videos on YouTube, Husker Du, 80s punk, Jesus Jones....Huge electronica fan, breakbeats & house music all night long

I rarely watch TV, and when I do, Game of Thrones is thrilling and does a great justice to the books. OITNB. True Detective, Girls is hilarious. Breaking Bad was stunning.

I love trying new restaurants and most foods, love burritos, dinner parties and throwing them. I really eat a lot of burritos.
The six things I could never do without
Laughing and seeing things from another perspective.
Friends and connecting.
Snacks. Gotta have snack confidence!
Outdoors, being outside, going someplace to enjoy the outdoors.
iPhone. It's like alien technology.
Burning Man and volunteering.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What am I doing and why?
On a typical Friday night I am
Going to dinner with friends, riding my bike through Golden Gate Park, or on a trip somewhere. And sometimes just hanging out at home tooling around with phone, TV, reading a bunch and thinking about the activity planned for Saturday such as a long run or hike.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love going dancing Saturday nights to New Wave / Alt-80s.
You should message me if
If the idea of going on an adventurous hike, dancing, dinner party, show and gala fundraiser all seem like fun, and if you enjoy walking and spending time connecting, going to awesome restaurants and burritos, and like giving each other advice and encouragement about careers, life and love, I might be your guy, especially if you are super smart, as brains I adore.
