I am self-employed as a yoga instructor (the HOT one) and a psychotherapist with a private practice. I did the 9-5 thing for years and now enjoy the freedom and independence that comes with being self-employed. I wish I had discovered it sooner!
I was born and raised in the South but when people meet me they think I'm from CA. I've been to CA and I don't know what they see.
I would describe myself as spiritual rather than religious. However, I do appreciate being brought-up in a family where religion was as much a part of life as meals. Speaking of which, my Mom is a fantastic cook - but I am not. I did live in New Orleans when I was in grad school so I know good food and can make a couple of things.
I'm in a book club and read books I would never have picked-up otherwise. It's one of the benefits. Some of our liveliest discussions are of those books we didn't like! Usually Pulitzer Prize winners. Books that have stuck with me are: The Alchemist, Many Lives, Many Masters, Crossing to Avalon - well, really, there are so many.
I would be interested in hearing from you if you're at that stage of life where you are authentic and feel complete within yourself. I like being around people who have done some self-examination and continue to grow. Maybe we could grow together.........
Please do not contact me if you are married or unhappy in your life right now. Smoking, more than occasional drinking. intolerance of differences and dishonesty are deal breakers.
Movies - Lion in Winter, Despicable Me (just love it!), the Harry Potter series, Jean de Florette and Manon of the Spring, Up, Gone With the Wind, most things directed by Pedro Almodovar - and so many more.
Love musical theatre and show tunes. New Orleans jazz and Dixieland jazz, Cole Porter songs, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, Zydeco and ragtime and boogie woogie.
Sense of Humor
Sometimes staying home and reading a good book or watching a movie.
