My self-summary
I'm a bit of a geek. Well, more than a bit. (A byte perhaps? :P) As you can perhaps tell, I make a lot of jokes. Often terrible, pun based jokes. I enjoy making people laugh, and I enjoy dancing too... the two are unrelated :P

I like anime, I play Magic: The Gathering, I enjoy writing, especially comedic stories and sketches. I am, however, pretty bad at filling out any sort of self-assessment like this, though most people seem to claim that, so maybe that just means I'm average in that respect?
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently working on a PhD in physics at Warwick Uni. Condensed matter, crystallography to be specific. At some point, I should be bombarding crystals with X-rays. Ladies, control yourselves :-P

Previously, I was working on a second Masters in Lancaster, in nuclear decommissioning... though I didn't actually deal with anything radioactive, it was more like a sonar robotics project.

Long term, I've always wanted to be a scientist, so want to carry on down that route, see if I can stay in research, though ask me again when I've finished my PhD and I may have changed my mind, haha.

Outside of that, I'm a member of Warwick Comedy society, mostly doing sketch writing, but also performing during shows. We even took a show to the Edinburgh Fringe last summer, which was a lot of fun and hard work!
I’m really good at
Writing, or so I'm told by those who take the time to read it. Well, alright, maybe not 'really' good, that does seem a little... big headed, I suppose...

Making people laugh - this is sometimes related to the writing :P

Making people feel wanted and important. I'm a very empathetic person and I enjoy talking with people.

Also, oddly, chocolate sponge cake... I'm better than I would have imagined, haha XD Ooh, and fajitas/burritos - not bad at all with those.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically? Either the long hair or the fact I'm a little more rotund than I'd ideally like. Unless I'm dancing, in which case the first thing they'd probably notice is that I'm a very energetic person, haha. Seriously though, according to my friends, it's pretty good.

Mentally, I'd go with sense of humour... it leaks into everything I do. You may or may not have noticed. (Hint: If you haven't, I don't think it'll work out. Compatible humour's probably my biggest thing to look out for)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For books, I really like Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, though outside of that I know I don't read remotely as much as I should XD (this is mostly because I SHOULD be reading more scientific papers, and feel guilty when I'm reading anything else, haha, though I make a mental exception for Carl Sagan)

Movies... hmm... there are very few films I'm happy to just watch over and over... I guess I don't really think about it too much, haha, I generally just watch whatever's on ^^;;

Shows: Supernatural, Dexter, Mongrels, Family Guy, Ugly Americans, MLP:FIM, Dr. Who, Sherlock, Community, Agents of Shield.
(Anime: Fairy Tail, History's Strongest Disciple, Gurren Lagann, Usagi Drop.)

Music: Metal mostly, like Nightwish, Sonata Artica, Cold, +44, Paramore, Linkin Park, but also some 90s cheese... Can't touch this! :D

Food: I really like making chilli, fajitas and curry :D I'm surprisingly good at chocolate sponges and apple pies too ^_^

Games: How did I not have a game section? Haha! I love the Disgaea games, and my other favourite game series are The Longest Journey, Final Fantasy, and Ace Attorney. I spend a bit of time playing League of Legends - I can be a reasonably reliable support. I also enjoy more strategy games, especially turn based, like Civ V and Emperor of the Fading Suns. Also enjoy the older Command and Conquer games, but not so much the newer stuff.
Six things I could never do without
My mind/ability to question things.
My sense of humour
My sense of wonder and curiosity XD
My friends
My computer
The Internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The Universe, the future, space, penguins, science, time, experiments, things which amuse me, extending metaphors, over-extending metaphors... it's kind of a mess up here :P

But seriously, I spend a lot of time thinking about stories, or sketches, normally of a comedic nature.
I spend a lot of time thinking about science, the wonders of the natural world... so, so many things. Also, Carl Sagan.
I spend a lot of time thinking about others... I don't like to make people uncomfortable, so I try to avoid that by thinking empathetically a lot :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Why does everything always happen on a Friday? :-P

I'd ideally like to go out more than I do, but most of my friends around here seem to prefer places like Kelsey's, which aren't exactly ideal for dancing.

Between finishing Uni and going out, when it happens, you'll probably find me at the Warwick Uni comedy society.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Hmm... the most private? I'm a very open person, so if you ask me a question, you'd better be prepared for the answer ;)

That doesn't answer this question though... hmm... I suppose it's probably that I'm a bit of a brony - that's the only thing I can think of that I wait a while to volunteer, haha XD
You should message me if
If you think I'm funny, if you think I'm someone you'd like to get to know, as a friend or potentially more :)

Also, if I've said something inconsistent somewhere... I'm not on here much, often with months in between when I'm on, and it's amazing how much a person can grow and change in a couple of months. Sometimes I forget to update things, both thought patterns and written information. I'd appreciate these being pointed out to me when noticed :)
