My self-summary
INTJ if that helps people out. This means that I sometimes have really random leaps of logic in a conversation.

I'm a true nerd. But I also enjoy martial arts, working out, guns, and indoor rock climbing (though I haven't climbed in a while).

I was raised by parents who constantly wondered if I was their kid or not because I was so different from them. I only listened to classical music until middle school.

I think of being with friends and around people as a nice side dish. While a wonderful addition, I'm just as happy being alone.
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally: Working on my second book.

Physically: P90X... Again... Woot? Getting ready for my next belt test.

Personally: Reading books. My friend and I have a bet on how many books I'll read this year. I just hit 40.
I’m really good at
Useless knowledge/trivia: I was on Academic Team in middle school and high school. Think, Jeopardy but with bonus questions if you get the toss up one right!

Disappearing: One part of this is I'm small. The other is martial arts. When I want to, or don't think about it, I cease to have a presence and end up accidentally sneaking up on people.

Conversations: I pride myself in the ability to talk to anyone about anything for at least 5 minutes. Engineering, sci-fi, theatre, sports, theoretical physics, you name it.

This one was pointed out to me recently -
Finding out information on people. Apparently I'm really good about learning the nuances of people incredibly quickly. We recently hired two new people at work and I know them better than anyone else. Weird.
The first things people usually notice about me
If you're standing close enough to me, it's probably going to be my really long eye lashes. Otherwise, I have a 6 year old smile (think Matt Damon's big smile), then my wit.

My penchant for non-sequiturs. This goes back to me having random leaps in logic/conversations.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - Anything Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, F. Paul Wilson, Richard K. Morgan, or something that is well written with a good story. Also, Shakespeare. I've been on a recent Steven Erikson kick.

Movies - Murder in the First, Shawshank Redemption, The Boondock Saints, Shall We Dance (the Japanese version), Milo & Otis (fave kid movie), The Dark Knight, etc. (ask me for a more complete list)

Music - Metallica, Dethklok (ridiculous, I know), Lake Street Dive, Muse, Radiohead, Arturo Sandoval, The Seatbelts, Beethoven, Johnny Cash, Nobuo Uematsu. Pretty much anything but reggae, hardcore rap, and hardcore country.

Food - Thai, Japanese, Mexican, in that order.

BTW- Seeing the music that I've listed, does anyone have a new suggestion for me? Hmmm?
Six things I could never do without
In no particular order:
1 - Music
2 - Books
3 - Movies/Theatre
4 - Martial arts
5 - Internet
6 - A peaceful, quiet place to go when I need it
I spend a lot of time thinking about
1 - Lists (I make lots of lists in my head, I have no idea why).

2 - Martial arts. What should I teach the students next. When I should take my next test. How to get inside my Sensei's defense while sparring with him (he's 6'2", I'm 5'6").

3 - Media. Figuring out the next book to read, or band to listen to, or movie to attend.

4 - Theoretical Physics. Like, could you actually teleport if you could figure out a way to bend the 3rd dimension by tapping the powers of the 4th dimension (and/or extreme amounts of gravity). And, if that works, could you only travel to places that you've been to before because you can prove you've been there in the past?

5 - Female OKCupid users with the fake mustaches. There are so many pictures of them. Why? I almost feel like it's the female version of the topless male. But instead of trying to make themselves more "sexy," they are trying to prove they are funny/unique. But seriously, can someone PLEASE explain this to me?

6 - What Okcupid has to say about me when they're listing me on someone else's page. You know what I mean. Do they say I'm less spiritual? More desiring of sex? More likely to become a super hero.... feel free to tell me.

7 - Now that I've been doing moderating on OKC, I'm curious if I've been reported.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm probably working. If not that, I'm most likely at home writing. Or, I could be in my top secret lab, plotting new and interesting things! MUAHAHAHAHAH
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a more physical version of Leonard Hofstadter from The Big Bang Theory (with less neediness and no lactose issue).

And something more embarrassing.... Somewhere out there is a video for my Elementary school with me and 3 friends air-banding to Weird Al Songs (Smells Like Nirvana, The White Stuff, and I think.... Blame it on the Drain). I will be forced to murder anyone that can find this video.

And a new one.... I've apparently been nominated to be a moderator for the site. Odd.
You should message me if
