Or just make fart jokes and talk about cartoons. I'm a simple man. I'm mainly looking for someone who will laugh with (or at) me, and join me for adventures.
I am a gamer. I play games, I write games, I've even worked in the gaming industry. I like any game that gives me an excuse to have a bunch of friends over for a night of shenanigans; my first love is tabletop RPGs, but I adore boardgames and can occasionally be persuaded to play videogames. I also play tabletop miniature games, but that's mainly because I love painting and it gives me an excuse to do so.
I like to be outside and go on adventures. Hiking, camping, fishing, foraging, and mushroom hunting always make for a good day. The forest is very tasty, and I enjoy finding food in it and experimenting with it in my kitchen. Did I mention I can cook? I can totally cook. As much as I enjoy my wilderness adventures, I also appreciate a day spent canning, dehydrating, pickling, or otherwise creating and storing tasty foods.
I like martial arts. I've done a number of different styles, and I'm always looking to learn more.
Cooking. Spicy food and seafood (usually that I have caught myself) are what I am best at, but I like to think that I can toss pretty much anything together and make it at least somewhat satisfying.
Fishing. I would fish every minute of every day if it was economically viable.
Languages. I love languages, I love learning new languages, and I love speaking the languages that I know. If you can teach me a language I don't know, or practice a language with me that I already know, we'll be best friends.
I devour any book on UFOs or the paranormal - maximum points if you do, as well. Talk paranormal with me and we'll get along great. I don't really believe any of it, but find the concepts fascinating.
My favourite book series is the Shadows of the Apt. I also like The Kingkiller Chronicles and The Prince of Nothing. China Mieville is wicked, as are Christie Golden and George R. R. Martin. On the semi-nonfiction side of things, I like classical epics such as the Ramayana, the Norse Poetic and Prose Eddas, the Mabinogion, or the Bhagavad Ghita.
For nonfiction books, I enjoy history books that go ridiculously in-depth about time periods or events. I have an entire shelf of books about wilderness survival, foraging, and cooking with foraged food. I also read books about grammar because I'm a huge nerd.
I like the X-Files, Firefly, Corner Gas, Torchwood, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Rick and Morty, Invader Zim, Adventure Time, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Kingdom, Colony, any of the Marvel series, and many more.
Musically, I like things with lots of energy-- Heavy metal, hard rock, folk, and punk are my genres of choice. I cannot stand country, and dubstep isn't music, it is the sound of Megatron and Optimus having a love affair.
