My self-summary
I didn't know how to start off explaining myself, so I asked my friends what they thought. I felt their idea to keep it real and list my shortcomings was although unique on a website like this, I opted to go the facebook route where you sound like you have the best life in the world.

So I looked in the mirror and asked myself what I thought. This yielded much better results. So here it goes - I think I might be the coolest guy on this dating site. I'm a lazy guy, NOO I'm mean, laid-back, (yeah, that sounds much more believable) but focused about what moves and inspires me. I don't take myself too seriously which took my 20's to figure out. The relationships in my life are most important to me. I'm from Winnipeg originally so keeping family and friends close is challenging sometimes as I have to deal with work, distance, and catching flights on time. Also, I guess because I moved away from them, saying my relationships with family and friends are the most important is a bit of a lie. But ah, what are gonna you do right??
What I’m doing with my life
I'm trying to make a living for myself doing what I enjoy. That would be my micro goal. Ultimately, I'm trying to steer clear from a lot of the societal traps out there and strive for things I want in my life - security, meaningful work, more leisure. Also, I still hold on to my dream of being able to slam dunk one day. Need to work on the vertical a bit though....or a lot!
I’m really good at
Putting smiles on faces. Probably one of my favourite things is to witness someone not being able to hold their drink in because they just couldn't suppress a laugh from something I said or did. That's one of the best feelings.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I usually sneak up on people from behind, so they.....just kidding. Probably my balls. My eyeballs that is.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favourite movie - Office Space for sure. Dead Poets Society is up there, Godfather is up there. Food - pizza, pickles. Books - Ishmael, The Stand, In Praise of Slow, Tuesdays with Morrie. Music - the Arcade Fire, Neil Young, The Boss, The Hip, Beastie Boys.
Six things I could never do without
Friends and family
Sense of Humour
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Nice try OK Cupid - you can't put my in a box like that! I think about a lot of different things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hot date [BEEP] (Lie detector beep)
Exciting night out with friends [BEEP]
At a friend’s house watching a movie [BEEP] home watching a movie [BEEP] home enjoying some alone-time [BEEP] home crying in the bath [DING]
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Hmmm, what can I write that will allow me to show my vulnerability and still make me seem cool. Kind of like telling a boss interviewing you for a job that your biggest weakness is "working too hard". Okay, I was a mascot for a CFL team for 3 years.
You should message me if
You're cool with turning off your phone when we hang out and you'd expect the same from me. I'll leave you with this - I know that when it comes to online dating, because there are so many people out there it can be easy to fall for the false belief that you're going to stumble on someone's profile where they meet every single criteria you're hoping for. Better to follow Louis CK's 70% rule to be content -
The two of us
