My self-summary
Who are we? Erich Fromm once said "tell me what wakes you up and I'll tell you who you are" That one always stuck with me. Travel really wakes me up! I usually take advantage of any opportunity to skip town and I always feel refreshed and often very fortunate to be living in Boston. (Well, I suppose I skipped town to the west coast one too many times: I made it! I'm here in the Bay Area!!) I love to sail and be out on the water. I love to go for hikes, camp, go on road trips, long bike trips, ski, museums, good food, and spending time with someone close.

I am Creative, Passionate, and inquisitive
What I’m doing with my life
I've changed careers. I consider myself very fortunate: I've found, if not exactly, the closest professional match to what it is I should "be doing with my life" In other words, I've sought that which cannot be work because if you are doing what you love, it's really not work after all. I'm currently relocating to the bay area from Boston and looking forward to making roots here. My past life: My undergrad was in economics, which landed my in private banking for just under a decade before I made the jump to Architecture.
I’m really good at
Skiing, I think, being a considerate partner. Driving;-), Ummm, making the best out of a boring other words...finding some way of making what would have been a boring day, exciting to some degree. Cooking! Sailing, riding my bike in Boston traffic......
The first things people usually notice about me
I have no clue.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Food: Ahhh, There is just so little that I don't like.... Books, anything by Aldous Huxley, Ayn Rand (no I'm not conservative !!!) Tolstoy, Marcel Proust, the latest books on science, cosmology, and quantum mechanics. Critiques on modern art and architecture to name a few. Also, The New Yorker and the Atlantic Monthly. Music - my Iphone has got a pretty healthy mix. Everything from Led Zeppelin, Roger Waters, The Decemberists, ABBA, Beethoven, Bob Marley, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Elliot Smith, Frank Sinatra, Iggy Pop, interpol, Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Kings of Leon, Mazzy Star, Morrissey's a big one, Natalie Merchant, Phish, Paul Simon, R.E.M, Radio Head, Rat Dog, Rush, Skip James, Tchaikovsky, Tom Waits, U2, name a few. Oh.....and I discovered the mix has grown considerably.
Six things I could never do without
You know, no matter how one answers this, it just comes out sounding either cheezy or materialistic. Yes, I love my mommy for bringing me into the words and yes, I take my Iphone everywhere.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The stuff I read about.......and making the most of my time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Studying, going out to dinner, in other words, I don't have a set schedule. Creativity comes in waves: some days you are on and some days you are not, so when I get my architectural mojo going I usually try to bust out some ideas - regardless of whether it is Monday morning or Saturday night. And, that leaves me with all of those other times to do other fun stuff to. ( that paragraph was from the grad school days in Boston...I'm going to keep it there for now, as a reminder of all that hard work) Now: I look back on a weeks work with satisfaction on finding a really great job with gear people and a weekend free of study.... Places to explore here and where to grab my next West Coast fresh meal! So's all been true....the food here is fantastic!!!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You know, honestly, this is just way to public to really honestly answer this question thoughtfully. (and I'm sort of into portraying myself the way) So, the way I see this working: we get to know just a little about each other here. JUST a LITTLE. then we meet, and we learn a little more. Umm, so, yah....I had to write something;-)
