My self-summary
I'm a musician and a geek, and I'm proud to be both. I've spent six years of my life in college, and I'm finally done. I'm suddenly finding myself having free time. For a long time, dating has been difficult purely because of lack of time. I figure it's about time to change that.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach music technology at Vanderbilt, as well as teaching private lessons at an after-school-type program.
I’m really good at
I'm a composer, and I'm classically trained in both guitar and piano. I also play a smattering of other random instruments.

Oh yeah, and I'm pretty good at Tetris. It's a gift.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I don't want to make some massive list here. Besides, this is the kind of stuff that makes for good conversation starters. So why not just ask me? I'll just leave it at this:

For music, I listen to a lot of metal, but since I'm classically trained, I also listen to a fair bit of classical. That said, I am not above liking a pop song if it's honestly good. Never afraid to listen to music outside my comfort zone.

For books, I like scifi and mystery.

Movies and shows, anything but horror.

For food, I'm afraid I'm a little picky. Trying to get better about that.
The six things I could never do without
1) My computer
2) My guitar
3) My family and best friends
4) A chance to unwind alone once in a while
5) Something to hit with a drum stick
6) My adorable little kitten, Tango
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The next project I'm working on, and whether or not choosing not to date all that much in college was a major mistake. I go back and forth on that one.
On a typical Friday night I am
Going to sleep, because I work Saturdays. But on Saturday nights, I'm usually having a glass or two of merlot and possibly hanging out with friends.

I'm more one for quiet nights, with the exception of concerts. I'm just not one to stay until closing time. Being social is exhausting.
You should message me if
...we match. Duh.

I'm open to something casual. I'm open to a relationship. I am open-minded in terms of dating. That said, I am here to date. Whether that means we click and connect and get into a deep relationship or just decide some casual sex would be a fun time, what I don't want is just a new platonic friend. I want something more.

Also, I am terrible at starting a conversation. So many people just ignore a vanilla hello, and I totally get that, but I don't know what the hell else to say half the time. Pick up lines are stupid, most profiles don't leave a whole lot of questions to be asked, and if I try to open with a compliment I get accused of just trying to get laid. So... You know... If we end up as mutual likes, maybe consider saying hi. I for one am completely okay with, "hello, how are you."
