My self-summary
Intelligent, curious, confident, down-to-earth, self-aware, funny, emotionally mature, considerate, kind, open-minded, honest, frank
I’m really good at
being honest about my character, both the good and bad. This can often come off as somewhat egotistical, but I think it's a waste of time and energy to deny our shortcomings or be modest about our strengths.

I have a remarkable mind for trivia. I'm forever curious about everything.

I have a huge vocabulary and love flexing it.

Math, spelling and grammar.

Making sure my partner is satisfied in bed. I'd rather give than receive and I've gotten many positive reviews over the years.
The first things people usually notice about me
My warm demeanor. Though I am poor with the small talk, I still manage to make pretty good first impressions.

My deep, manly voice. People are routinely surprised by it since such a rumbling bass should not come from a man who's 6'1" and 180lbs. At least once a week someone tells me I should sing/work in radio.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love all ethnic foods more than any American fare. SUSHI has to be my #1 love, but I also dig Indian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Mexican and I'm always excited to try new things.

I tend towards more non-fiction than fiction these days because I'm interested in why we humans make the choices that we do, but I love a great narrative regardless of it being fact or fantasy - i.e. Fight Club, Ender's Game, Siddhartha, The Tao of Pooh, Tao Teh Ching, A Brief History of Time, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Harry Potter, Watchmen, The Tipping Point, Blink, Outliers, The Snowball, A Song of Ice & Fire

I love the movies. As in, the experience of going to the cinema. It was something my family did together a lot and I have a lot of fond memories related to it. So, of course, I enjoy movies themselves quite a lot as well. If there's a flaw in my movie tastes, it's that I'm not a huge fan of 'subtle' cinema. I like my movies to give me a very visceral reaction. Whether it's love, sadness, excitement, or fear, I want my movies to make me feel something - i.e. All movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy, Fight Club, Spider-Man I & II (NOT III or The Amazing Reboot Junk), All X-Men movies, The Boondock Saints, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento, Se7en, The Usual Suspects, The Matrix, Ghostbusters I & II, TMNT I & II, A History of Violence, Pleasantville, Garden State, Stranger Than Fiction, American Psycho, The Big Chill, Juno, American History X, Die Hard (A Christmas Classic), Live Free or Die Hard, The Holiday (I love chick flicks with substance), Insidious (Movies can still be terrifying w/out the gore are awesome), Get Him to the Greek

TV Shows: Spartacus, All Star Trek (to varying degrees), Firefly + Serenity, Dollhouse, The Americans, Game of Thrones, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash, The 100, Supergirl, Jessica Jones, Archer, Bob's Burgers

Music: Tool, Lamb of God, Rage Against the Machine, A Perfect Circle, Killswitch Engage, Boysetsfire, Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Deftones, In Flames, Nine Inch Nails, Thursday, Slipknot, System of a Down
I appreciate most things that fall under the giant heading of "rock" and I'm okay w/ a fair bit of hip-hop and anything that makes me feel the urge to dance, but there's no appeal to hardcore rap or country for me.
Six things I could never do without
Meaningful relationships (beyond a romantic partner)
Peanut Butter
Intellectual Stimulation

That's only five. I'm very low maintenance, so that's all that comes to mind currently.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I just spend a lot of time thinking. My brain rarely slows down. I'm never bored. I can sit quietly for long periods of time without difficulty. Once in a while I have trouble falling asleep just because my brain is working in overdrive, but mostly I like the way my head works because it means that I'm always considering alternative possibilities and points of view and making calculated, dispassionate decisions. I'm the opposite of impulsive. That doesn't mean I'm not adventurous, but it means I have very few regrets in my life because I don't act without thinking.
On a typical Friday night I am
Dancing, drinking, playing Friday Night Magic, preparing for weekend work events, relaxing at home, playing video games online with friends, playing board games created after 1990
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have no secrets. I fearlessly share all aspects of my character and will happily answer any direct question posed to me.
You should message me if
Having some combination of the below traits probably means we'll be more compatible, but they're not necessary:

-You are self-aware, emotionally and/or existentially
-You like to exercise your brain
-You like metal and going to concerts
-You rank sex among your favorite activities
-You consider yourself to be some kind of nerd (In my experience, that just means you're passionate)
-You skip the small talk when meeting someone. I'm here to make a genuine connection. Small talk is just the superficial stuff you share as you're talking about the experiences and passions that define you.
-You are familiar with board games created in the last 20 years
-You want to share experiences with me. I find most things in life to be more enjoyable when you do them with someone you care about.
