I am a HUGE film lover. Foreign, classic, horror, just about anything. I will say that modern comedies fail more often than not, although I see and enjoy several every year. (Adam Sandler should probably be shot for crimes against humor, though!) Anyway, I am the kind of person who would rather see most things on the big screen than wait for video, and do so at least a couple of times a month.
Music. The biggest constant need in my life, and I truly couldn't live without it. I have a pretty large cd collection (relics!) with everything ranging from The Beatles to Florence + the Machine. I have a special love for 80's, "alternative" (whatever that means, really) and progressive rock. I still go to several shows a year...although not as many as I used to due to skyrocketing ticket prices and the tendency of many concert-goers to be complete idiots.
I tend to be very physically affectionate, with lots of touches, caresses, hugs, kisses. I love nothing better than a truly passionate kiss, and have been known to lose great stretches of time with the right person ;)
Oh, and if you're tired of men who are completely sports-obsessed, look no further! I can tolerate sports in small doses in social situations, but they are *never* a priority. The Olympics is about the only thing that truly engages me.
I guess in a lot of ways I go against the norm and try to be a true individual. Conventionality bores me. Does it bore you too? Then look me up and hopefully we can have a great time together!
Going with the most recent first, 2011 was probably the last year that I felt a lot of excitement. My album of the year was a two-way tie: Black Keys' "El Camino" and Florence + the Machine's "Ceremonials." They both got played to death. Oh, last year Rush actually put out one of their best albums, amazingly.
Let me just list some of the heavy hitters: Muse, Queen, Rush, Yes, Supergrass, Foo Fighters, Genesis, XTC, Cure, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Ben Folds, Flaming Lips, Guided By Voices, King Crimson, ELO, Oingo Boingo, The Fixx, The Damned, Pink Floyd, Phish, Alan Parsons Project, Steely Dan, Crowded House, Tame Impala, REM, Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Tears For Fears, Soundgarden, The Police, and the best band that you likely have never heard, Porcupine Tree.
